Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for another October 2026 CDP, and this time I'm revisiting the Fairy Tail/Magistus strategy with a few more neat tricks under the new list, and the arrival of Verre, the Maid of Endymion in BETB. Before we dive into this particular build, be sure to check out my last version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2TRcR5wtMk .Let's start by getting into what's changed - in short, this deck lost the ability to be fully degenerate and lock the opponent entirely out of Spell Cards with the loss of Secret Village of the Spellcasters, and it lost a LINK-4 option in Charmer Quarter in Bloom. The bigger story here, however, is what it kept - it didn't actually lose out on its other negate options. Teller of Fairy Tails remains an easily-accessible omni-negate, and paired with Zoroa, the Magistus Verethragna and/or Invoked Mechaba, you still can put up a board that's fairly difficult to dismantle. And while quite a few floodgates were banned that make the game miserable to play, one that wasn't is Necrovalley, the iconic Gravekeeper Field Spell that prevents cards from leaving the GY. Also, Necrovalley is still fully accessible, if you leverage Summon Sorceress to get to your copy of Cosmo Queen the Queen of Prayers. Then, alongside Necrovalley, you can also run Royal Tribute, a friendly Normal Spell that forces both players to discard any monsters, which can be quite evil and disruptive in some matchups!
Alright, now what other fun tech options can be used to spruce up this strategy? First, I've included the new Spell Power Attainment from BETB, since that gets any card that mentions Spell Counters, such as Spell Power Mastery. In turn, Mastery tutors any Endymion card, including Empire of Endymion or Verre-Maid, giving you yet another starter. Secondly, I wanted to add an extra negate to the endboard, so I've turned to a Silent Magician engine by also including a copy of Silent Burning. How do you get Burning into the GY to tutor your Silent Magician? Simply leverage the first effect of Verre Magic - Lacrima of Light, that's how! Then the last cool tech option in here is a small Invoked package, featuring Aleister the Reminiscent. When summoned, it grabs you a free copy of Invocation - "Sword", allowing you to leverage Hyperinvoked Aeon as another form of disruption on either turn, since you are already running 4 different Attributes of Fusion Monsters in the deck! Long story short, if you like un-fun combos and committing to pile decks, this might just be the strategy for you in the new format!
