Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for another Creative Deck Profile, and this time we’re diving into the banish-Zombie world of the Shiranui, a theme of FIRE/Zombie monsters that rotate in and out of your banishment. For example, Shiranui Solitaire may be best known for its ability to summon Uni-Zombie out of the deck, but did you know it also Special Summons 1 or 2 banished Shiranui monsters when it is banished as well? With that in mind, let’s meet the key star of today’s build: Necroface. This Level 4 DARK/Zombie banishes the top 5 cards of both players’ decks when banished, and this can quickly stack up in your favor. Combine this with Dark Necromancer, who Special Summons any Level 4 or lower Zombie from your banishment when banished, and you will amass resources like a Mad Mauler!
None of this is new, mass-mill Necroface builds have always existed in causal-land, but what makes it special now? Well, there are two new cards that truly help this deck stand out from the rest, and the first is One of Two (YGOrg Translation). This Spell lets you pick two Traps, one of which is guaranteed to get banished, and placing your fate in the opponent’s hands if they happen to pick your monster. Either way, this works in your favor due to D.D. Post, as Post comes back to your field when banished, giving you another way to banish that Necroface even if your opponent is unlucky. The other new option is Diabrocken of the Ghost Light (YGOrg Translation), a Level 6 FIRE Fiend that can Special Summon itself by banishing a FIRE from your field or GY, negating a face-up card on the field in the process. Not only does this serve as an effective hand-trap for the deck, but it also is a great way to trigger your Shiranui effects on the opponent’s turn as well! Combine these options with the existing Ghost Meets Girl – A Masterful Mayakashi Shiranui Saga, which all but shuts the opponent out of the duel, and Shiranui Style Samsara, which keeps your opponent from inflicting damage to you, and you have a recipe for success as you whittle away your opponent’s deck, 5 banished cards at a time!
