Let’s take the Scrap archetype in a Fusion Direction.
Replays:
Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for today’s profile, where surely every Machine in the Scrapyard came out to play. Scrap combos begin with Scrap Raptor, a Level 4 Dinosaur that can destroy a monster you control to gain an additional Scrap Normal Summon during the turn. When it’s destroyed by a Scrap effect, including its own, it tutors a non-tuner Scrap monster, such as Scrap Recycler. Once Recycler is summoned, anything becomes fair game. Send Crystron Rosenix or Mecha Phantom Beast O-Lion to make a token and continue through Scrap combos with Scrap Wyvern. Send Cyber Dragon Herz to tutor another Cyber Dragon from your Deck or GY. Send Machina Citadel and you have another threat for when an EARTH Machine is destroyed. Altogether, this provides a variety of mechanized options, all of which give you more ways to gain advantage… for recycling of course!
Speaking of recycling, let’s talk about Fusion Recycling Plant, a key Field Spell for the second half of this strategy. Each turn, Plant lets you discard a card to tutor or recover a Polymerization – then during the End Phase of a turn you Fusion Summoned, Plant recovers one of those Fusion Material monsters. In most cases, the Fusion Monster of choice for this deck is Guardian Chimera, a Level 9 Fusion that uses any 3 monsters as material, giving you draws equal to the number of material used from your hand and destroyed cards your opponent controls equal to the number of material used from your field. I’d suggest Fusion Summoning this with Mecha Phantom Beast Tetherwolf, as his Normal Summon can provide 2/3 Fusion Materials. Or you can just use Tether and his Token to make Garura, Wings of Resonant Life, or throw in Cyber Dragon to make Cyber Eternity Dragon. Either way, all of your scrappy combos add up to a big burst of Fusion energy, especially if you wait for an Overload Fusion into Chimeratech Overdragon. Fuse onwards to destruction with the Cyber Scraps!
