Strategic Summary:
Welcome to today’s CDP, because this time the Rescue-ACE theme is ablaze, fighting fires and winning hearts. This FIRE archetype consisting of both FIRE Machines and FIRE Warriors revolves around Rescue-ACE Hydrant, which tutors a new Rescue-ACE monster each turn and allows you to activate a Rescue-ACE S/T the turn it is set by another Rescue-ACE effect. I covered this theme once before when it first game out in Amazing Defenders, so be sure to check it out here if you’re drawing a blank on this archetype: Here.
Since the last 3-alarm fire, the arsenal has definitely been expanded. On the supporting front, the theme received a new Trap card in REINFORCE!, which makes a Rescue-ACE monster unaffected by your opponent’s monster effects, as well as boosting its ATK/DEF by 1500 for the turn. REINFORCE! also can banish itself from the GY to set another Rescue-ACE Spell card from your GY, giving you even more recovery if you didn’t have enough already with the other archetype members. With a very similar second effect, EMERGENCY! (YGOrg Translation) is the theme’s other new support card, and this one is a Spell that can banish itself from the GY to set a Rescue-ACE Trap card from your GY. More important is its first effect, which Special Summons any Rescue-ACE monster from your deck, then you Tribute a Rescue-ACE monster from your hand or field. Need a Hydrant? EMERGENCY! it out. Need a Rescue-ACE Turbulence to set 4 more Rescue-ACE S/Ts? EMERGENCY! it out. Combine this new Spell card with Rescue-ACE Preventer (YGOrg Translation), which happens to Special Summon a banished Rescue-ACE monster when sent to the GY, and you have everything you need to break even in card advantage and more. Because once you’ve set all of your backrow, any opponent will struggle to fight their way through the firewall of Rescue-ACE Spells and Traps. Lastly on the new support front, don’t forget Hiita the Fire Channeler (YGOrg Translation), which can discard itself and another FIRE monster to tutor a new FIRE monster with higher ATK, giving you easy access to Turbulence, Preventer, and so many other great monsters. When the Stop-Drop-Roll can’t help you, call the Rescue-ACE!
