Why put out fires when you can set 4 with one effect!?
Replays:
Strategic Summary:
Today’s profile is FIRE as we showcase the Rescue-ACE archetype rushing into action. This FIRE archetype consists of both Warriors and Machines. The Warriors call their fellow crew into action, with each able to tribute themselves from the hand or field when your opponent activates a monster effect on the field to Special Summon a different Rescue-ACE monster. For example, Rescue-ACE Air Hoister (YGOrg Translation) can summon one from your hand, while Rescue-ACE Impulse (YGOrg Translation) can Special Summon a Machine Rescue-ACE from your Deck! Hoister also carries a second effect, able to tutor any Rescue-ACE Spell when Summoned, which parallels with Rescue-ACE Intruder (YGOrg Translation), the last Warrior that tutors a Trap when Summoned. Moving along to the Machines, Rescue-ACE Fire Engine (YGOrg Translation) and Rescue-ACE Fire Attacker (YGOrg Translation) can Special Summon themselves from the hand whenever another Rescue-ACE is Summoned to your field. Fire Engine comes with an effect to Special Summon any Level 4 or lower Rescue-ACE from the hand, Deck, or GY when a monster is Special Summoned to your opponent’s field and Fire Attacker lets you draw 2 then discard when your opponent adds a card to their hand.
All of these minor players at the station may be cool and all, but the big boss of this theme is the reason to use the archetype – Rescue-ACE Turbulance (YGOrg Translation) can summon itself from the hand by banishing 2 Rescue-ACE cards from your GY, but once it’s there, it can set up to 4 Rescue-ACE Quick-Play Spells or Normal Traps from your deck. That’s 4 free cards, for nothing. For the highlights, CONTAIN! (YGOrg Translation) can negate an Effect Monster’s effects for a turn and prevent it from attacking and EXTINGUISH! (YGOrg Translation) can destroy an opponent’s Effect Monster. Additionally, all of their Quick-Play Spells and Normal Traps gain an additional effect while you control Rescue-ACE Hydrant (YGOrg Translation), the Level 1 Machine monster, empowering them to be even more effective. For example, RESCUE! (YGOrg Translation) can typically target a Rescue-ACE in your GY to Special Summon, but if you have Hydrant, you can target any monster in your opponent’s GY instead! Closing out this strategy today is Performapal Five-Rainbow Magician, my personal favorite tech card for this archetype. Since you’ll be able to easily set 4 Spell/Traps to your field, all of your monsters will be boosted to have double their original ATK, and if your opponent doesn’t have a card set to their backrow, Magician shuts down their monsters’ effects and attacks. Taste the flaming rainbow with this Yu-Gi-Oh! take on the Firefighter archetype!
