Strategic Summary:

Welcome to another profile, and yes, this marks the return of my regular cadence for CDPs. This profile centers around the Plunder Patroll archetype, showing off what this WATER/Fiend archetype can do following the release of their new EARTH Patrollship, Plunder Patrollship Jord (YGOrg Translation). This Synchro Pendulum monster allows you to tutor a Plunder Patroll card whenever your opponent Special Summons a monster, then if it was equipped with a Plunder Patroll card, it can also summon one from the deck. More importantly, it can target a Plunder Patroll card in your GY to recover it, then move Jord to the Pendulum Zone as a Spell, so you can use its Pendulum effect to summon a Token of whatever attribute you wish to both fields. In other words, this gives your opponent a monster of any attribute you need to make the most of Blackbeard, the Plunder Patroll Captain, Whitebeard, the Plunder Patroll Helm, or Redbeard, the Plunder Patroll Matey. Since the last time I covered this theme on my channel, the Plunder Patroll archetype has also received Blackeyes, the Plunder Patroll Seaguide, a Level 4 that can Special Summon itself from the hand while recovering a Plunder Patroll monster. Serving as another extender for the theme, both of these new options solidify the theme as having insane recovery, so let’s give them a starting boost, shall we?

That’s where the second archetype in play comes into the picture – the P.U.N.K. Unless you’ve just found my channel, you’ve probably seen that I’ve combined P.U.N.K. with so many things by this point, and that’s just because they serve as an awesome archetype for kickstarting the duel and making Level 8 Synchros. Level 8 Synchros matter here because the Plunder Patroll archetype has two of them, as well as having a Link that only requires 1 Plunder Patroll monster amongst its material. In short, the P.U.N.K. engine looks to Noh-P.U.N.K. Ze Amin to tutor Noh-P.U.N.K. Foxy Tune, which then tutors Noh-P.U.N.K. Deer Note, making a Level 8 Synchro, while recovering that Foxy Tune back from your GY to result in 2 Level 8 monsters. Also, remember, you can initiate this chain with Emergency Teleport as well! While this can go the Patroll route, you can also turn this into P.U.N.K. JAM Dragon Drive, searching a level 3 Psychic monster and giving you the setup for the next turn. Wherever the seas may take you, the sea is always right, so set sail with the Plunder P.U.N.K. Ships of Trolls.
