Strike up a Crescendo with the DARK Witch.

Strategic Summary:
Today’s CDP features the return of the Diabellestarr engine, supporting none other than the Orcust theme. The Orcust archetype served as the DARK representative of World Legacy lore themes, bringing out a sinister take on the world of music. With various orchestral motifs, the monsters in this theme are led by Link Monsters that shuffle banished Machines back into the Deck to activate their effects. For example, Galatea, the Orcust Automaton shuffles 1 back to set any Orcust Spell/Trap from the deck, while Longirsu, the Orcust Orchestrator shuffles 2 back to send a linked monster your opponent controls to the GY. Either Orcust Link Monster can be used as the sole Xyz Material for the summon of Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star, a Rank 8 monster that gives your entire board protection and an effect to send a card on your opponent’s field to the GY. All of these Extra Deck monsters are supported by a suite of Main Deck effect monsters that support additional summoning. Girsu, the Orcust Mekk-Knight gets to send 1 Orcust or World Legacy card to the GY when summoned, and if it is the only monster you control, it can also summon a Level 1 non-Tuner Token to both fields! Orcust Symbal Skeleton is another key monster, it can be banished from your GY to Special Summon another Orcust from your GY. Holding this together is Orcust Knightmare, which can be banished from the GY to send any DARK Machine from your Deck to the GY, and World Legacy – “World Wand”, which can be banished from the GY to Special Summon 1 of your banished Orcust monsters.
While this archetype has been greatly hampered by the banning of Orcust Harp Horror in the TCG, the Diabellestarr archetype is a great stopgap to fill that horror void. Diabellestarr the Dark Witch can be Special Summoned by sending any other card from your hand or field to the GY, and when it is summoned, you can set 1 Sinful Spoils S/T from your Deck. Why this works well with the Orcust is that Diabellestarr gets those pesky Orcust monsters that want to be in the GY out of your hand and into your GY, without losing any tempo or card advantage. Gone are the days of needing to run Orcust Brass Bombard to clear a clogged hand, when Diabellestarr is consistently accessed via “The Sinful Spoils Hunter Fiend”. As far as the other Sinful Spoils, Sinful Spoils of Doom – Luciela (YGOrg Translation) can be used on Diabellestarr to clear the opponent’s board, or at least put a dent in their ATK power. If you don’t need that sort of disruption, Sinful Spoils of Betrayal – Silvia (YGOrg Translation) can be used to negate the effects of a face-up card on the field instead!
Finally, to round out today’s build, I’m also employing a full Destiny HERO engine, chalk full of Destiny HERO – Malicious, Destiny Hero – Celestial, Fusion Destiny, and more, as all of these DARK monsters pair well with the innate disruptive capabilities of the Orcust theme. Plus, Destiny HERO – Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer is such a powerful card, that it is worth it. Especially since Diabellestarr can also double in sending those monsters out of your hand to the GY as well! Such a nice dark witch, and a great engine to support this hybrid DARK strategy. Play on my DARK symphony, play on!
