Another Maze TCG-Premiere Theme? Let’s go!

Strategic Summary:
Today’s CDP features the debut of the Odion support cards to my channel, and boy has this theme kept the cool card design going. This modernization of Temple of the Kings leverages a variety of EARTH monsters, Fusions, and Trap Cards to control the duel, and slowly grind your way to victory, so let’s meet the new cards. Starting out with Anubis the Last Judge, this Level 10 can be discarded to tutor The Man with the Mark and start your combos, but it also can Special Summon itself from the GY by shuffling back 2 Traps or Temple of the Kings from your GY, while you have at least a 3rd. The Man with the Mark that I mentioned, that’s your primary Normal Summon in the deck, adding any S/T that mentions Temple of the Kings on summon. Normally, you’ll be grabbing Treasures of the Kings, a new Field Spell that sets an Apophis Trap on activation, plus it can tutor any monster that mentions Temple of the Kings. Next up on the tutorfest is Merciless Scorpion of Serket, which can Special Summon itself while Temple of the Kings is on the field, and it can tutor any Spell that mentions Temple of the Kings… What can I say, this deck does a LOT of tutoring. Even the new Apophis the Serpent sets a new Apophis Trap from the deck on activation, as well as tutoring the OG Embodiment of Apophis when sent to the GY!
Beyond all of this tutoring, you may be asking what this theme actually does… Well, it sure has a lot of effects that activate in one long chain, so why not call upon That’s 10! to benefit from that. 10 card or effect activations is a cakewalk, but once you hit the magic number, the Argostars engine is ready to jump right into the fray. Whether it is Argostars – Lightning Tydeu kicking off the engine or Argostars – Glorious Adra assembling everything you need, you have all of the right tools to control the duel… or simply Xyz Summon a Time Thief Redoer... your choice of course! The other support engine at play in this build is the Vernusylphs, an archetype of EARTH monsters that combine extremely well with other monsters that love to be repeatedly summoned. They’re also all EARTH Fairies, which combo extremely well with the original Mystical Beast of Serket, the original EARTH Fairy. This Level 6 combines with Temple of the Kings to summon any Fusion monster from the Extra Deck. To provide a smattering of options, I’m using Naturia Exterio (to negate S/Ts), Saint Azamina (to reflect damage and prevent targeting), The Last Warrior from Another Planet (to prevent summoning), and of course the new Divine Scropion Beast of Serket and Divine Serpent Apophis, the two EARTH Fusions that round out the new theme.
Altogether, this deck brings a lot of potential card advantage to the table, as well as the ability to convert that advantage into control over the duel. I hope you enjoy the replays, but be sure to tune back in for a real life profile on this theme next month or so, as I can’t wait to showcase how I’ve streamlined this wide-reaching concept into a top tier build. Until then, enjoy the new cards, and let me know in the comments what else you’d like to see next!
