Celebrate the Year of the Snake!
Replays:
Strategic Summary:
Today’s CDP is the first in a series of videos highlighting different ways to play Mitsurugi, in celebration not only of its dominance over the past year, but also because 2025 was the Year of the Snake after all! In this first deckbuild, we’re going combo-crazy to the max, by including the new Synchron Support cards to enable degeneracy and fully hand-loop the opponent, if left to its own devices! Before we get into that, let’s talk about what the Mitsurugi do best – getting Level 4 and Level 8 bodies into play. Between Ame no Habakiri no Mitsurugi and Mitsurugi Ritual, you have plenty of ways to get the non-Tuner material train rolling! Once you do, the constant search power, existence of Mitsurugi Prayers, and the threat of an unchecked Futsu no Mitama no Mitsurugi all but put the duel squarely in your hands. Okay, enough about Snakes, let’s talk Synchron!
The Synchron strategy got a big boost with the release of the Legendary 5Ds Decks TCG Product, but nothing is more impactful than Synchro Fellowship, a Spell that tutors both Junk Synchron and a monster that mentions Junk Warrior or Stardust Dragon. With this, you can grab Scrap Synchron, Stardust Synchron, Full-Speed Warrior, Anchorbolt Hedgehog, or Crossroad Sonic Chick – any is fair game. In what case would you want which? Scrap Synchron is for when you have a Level 4 Non-Tuner, as that equates to Junk Speeder. If you have a Mitsurugi you haven’t tributed yet, grab Stardust Synchron to Tribute, Summon, then make Crimson Dragon! Already have either of the two? Grab one of the other options to facilitate Synchro combos. Then, once Speeder resolves and you shift into high gear, you’ll want to start looping Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier and PSY-Framelord Omega to banish away your opponent’s hand. This is especially good here, as when they’re left with minimal resources in hand, Ame no Murakumo no Mitsurugi becomes an omni-negate, and then between Bystial Dis Pater, Herald of the Arc Light, and Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon, you will have an answer. See you next time with a less combo-intensive build, as we power the deck up to 11 with a ton of micro-engines and celebrate new card releases to come!

Thanks for sharing Synchron Mitsu with us! I’ve tried some solo combos with the newest Assault Mode support from Blazing Dominion, and now Psi-Reflector is a full Synchron and full Mitsurugi combo, as you can add Assault Sonic Warrior and Scrap Synchron, then make Star Ham, make Herald, and lastly make Speeder with Herald and Scrap Synchron that you added with Assault Sonic Warrior. This imo lets you chop off some of the Normal Summons and garnets that otherwise compete with each other, especially Full-Speed Warrior (You can always add Fellowship with Stardust Synchron). It still has quite a few bricks, but the ease of having more 1/1.5 card combos without your Normal is comforting.
