Closing out on a Reptilian note!

Strategic Summary:
Today marks my final CDP of 2025, so let’s close out the Celebration of the Year of the Snake with the Mitsurugi build based around heavy control. If you want to see more of a Combo or Aggro build, be sure to check out the Mitsurugi Synchron [ https://youtu.be/inWzngQ2oY8 ] and Mitsurugi End of the World [ https://youtu.be/UfAezkoaDB8 ] builds I featured in the last few days. This time, we’re slowing it down, using the power of the Mitsurugi simply to limit the opponent, and what better way to limit them than to employ a Primite engine. The Primite archetype centers around Primite Dragon Ether Beryl, a Level 4 Dragon that sets a Primite S/T on Normal Summon. Typically you use this to grab Primite Lordly Lode, but if you had that already, Primite Fusion is a great second choice. With Fusion, you are then able to bring out Primite Dragon Nether Berzelius and tutor a copy of Primite Imperial Dragon, both of which give you a leg up on your opponent for the next turn.
How? Well, Berzelius negates the activated effects of monsters your opponent controls based on the number of Normal Monsters on field/in GY, so the obvious synergy here is to use Alien Shocktrooper as Ritual Material during your Mitsurugi plays. Then, once Berzelius leaves the field, it summons a Normal Monster from deck, giving you Tribute material to negate all monsters your opponent controls with Imperial! In addition to Shocktrooper, I stole from one of my CLASH builds the use of a copy of Blue-Eyes White Dragon, not only for its ‘virtually invincible’ status, but also because it enables Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon to recycle your Traps as well. Add on the normal control aspects of the Primite like Primite Drillbeam and Primite Scream, and you can quickly build up too much for an opponent to blindly push through. And if they do, never forget that Planet Pollutant Virus is just a Triple Tactics Thrust or Cosmic Slicer Zer’oll away! Anyways, thank you for your engagement with my content this past year, and I’ll see you soon to kick off another year of CDPs and more!

Always love seeing the creative decisions like taking two meta engines and strapping them together, here’s to 2026!
Primite? Meta?
Ah sorry, it doesn’t top literally every tournament so it’s not meta. My mistake.
