Blazing Equip Spells!
Replays:
Strategic Summary:
Welcome back to another profile featuring the Mikanko archetype; this time, it’s without the Bamboo Sword archetype! Speaking of that, I’d suggest checking out my former profile on the archetype to get an initial take: Here. 2 months later, not too much has changed about the Mikanko archetype, but I wanted to showcase what you could do by playing up the FIRE Warrior side of the archetype to further support Hare the Sword Mikanko (YGOrg Translation). If you remember, this archetype revolves around Equip Cards, as when Hare or Nini the Mirror Mikanko (YGOrg Translation) are equipped with an Equip Card, they cannot be destroyed by battle and your opponent takes battle damage in your place. As for the Mikanko Equip Spells, Arabesque of the Mikanko (YGOrg Translation) is the most powerful, giving you the ability to Special Summon 1 Mikanko monster from your hand or Deck, then returning the equipped monster to the hand… such as an opponent’s monster you equip it to.
While this is not the first archetype to support the Equip Card mechanic, the Infernoble archetype provides quite a bit of synergy here, since their Equip Spells have limited restrictions on what you can equip them to. For example, “Infernoble Arms – Durendal” can be equipped to any monster, then it can be destroyed to tutor a Level 5 or lower FIRE Warrior. Hare is a great target for that, but you can also tutor out Infernoble Knight – Renaud, which can Special Summon itself from the hand while recovering an Equip Spell or a FIRE Warrior monster that is banished or in your GY. As for the newest Infernoble monster, Brave Beauty of Ruby Regard – Bradamante (YGOrg Translation) is another Level 1 FIRE Warrior that can be discarded to equip a Warrior monster with any Equip Spell from your Deck. Given that this can be used to tutor your Mikanko Equip cards as well, and you have a recipe for having all the Mikanko cards you desire. That is, up until the point of going for game with a well-timed Mikanko Kagura (YGOrg Translation), Ritual Summoning Ohime the Manifested Mikanko, and destroying many cards the opponent controls. So grab your swords and march on – the Infernobles are ready to ride into battle with the orange-loving Mikanko monsters!
