Strategic Summary:
Jumpstarting this week of profiles is another Metalfoes-centric build, this time building on their new support and throwing in a few extra archetypes. For a pure Metalfoes build, be sure to check out the last time I covered them here. If you haven’t entertained any thoughts of this archetype outside of Heavymetalfoes Electrumite, the Metalfoes archetype is a Pendulum theme designed to Fusion Summon, and their recent support only made that more consistent with Parametalfoes Fusion, which lets you use a material from the Extra Deck. While they’re in the Pendulum Zone, most Metalfoes monsters can destroy another face-up card to set a Metalfoes S/T to your field, giving the theme great consistency, but also synergy with themes that want their cards destroyed. Enter the F.A. engine.
The F.A. archetype includes multiple Field spells: F.A. City Grand Prix, F.A. Off-Road Grand Prix, and F.A. Circuit Grand Prix each can tutor an F.A. card whenever they’re destroyed by a card effect. Since they are also tutorable by F.A. Auto Navigator, your deck has streamlined access to a chain of destruction to use all the Metalfoes effects you desire. This also combines well with the second major engine, the Rose Dragon archetype. The Rose Dragons are a set of Dragon monsters used to support Plant Synchro Summoning while making Black Rose Dragon and Ruddy Rose Dragon, two destructive Synchro monsters. For example, Red Rose Dragon gets to Special Summon another Rose Dragon from the deck when used as Synchro material, and Roxrose Dragon tutors any card that lists Black Rose Dragon in its text, such as Basal Rose Shoot or Blooming of the Darkest Rose. Together, all of these cards give your Metalfoes strategy an extra dimension of Synchro Summoning, augmenting its normal Fusion capabilities for the better. Race to the top with the Metalfoes, with a few more archetypes in tow!
