CDP: Memento with Dark Hole Dragon and Mementotlan Attic Ghost

Welcome back to another CDP showcasing a slightly updated build, this time taking on the Memento archetype once again. If you missed my initial coverage of this theme, be sure to check that out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-Bfa1P2BUk

Now that we’re back, I’m going to talk primarily about what has changed since the last profile, and that’s two things. First, the deck has gotten their official TCG name, Memento, but most of the monsters have Mementotlan in their names, which just sounds awesome! Second, and more relevant to the deck itself, is that a brand new Level 2 Fiend Memento has been revealed to be released in PHNI. Mementotlan Attic Ghost (YGOrg Translation) is fairly simple – when it is sent to the GY by a Memento effect, it Special Summons itself. Then, when summoned, it recovers a Memento card from the GY. Before Attic, the Memento theme had a ton of starters and power across Mementotlan Dark Blade, Mementotlan Angwitch, and Mementotlan Tatsunootoshigo, but it’s even better now since any of those options can eventually lead into getting a free Ghost on the field, allowing you to setup for your summons of Mementoal Tecuhtlica – Combined Creation, their 5000 ATK/DEF boss monster. If you want to destroy both your opponent’s monsters and your own, then maybe the Memento archetype will be the perfect, worldbreaking strategy for you!
