Mill the opponent’s Extra Deck on Turn 1!

Strategic Summary:
Today’s Creative Deck Profile continues my fun ‘combo week’ by aiming to combo on Turn One until your opponent’s entire Extra Deck is wiped away with World Legacy Scars. In order to do so, Scars must banish 8 Mekk-Knight monsters with different names from your GY/Field, which leads to the huge payoff of wiping away your opponent’s Extra Deck and hand. To accomplish this goal, I am running 9 Mekk-Knight monsters with different names in the Main Deck and 3 additional Mekk-Knights in the Extra Deck, so let’s talk about how all of these knights flow together. The primary gimmick and mechanic of the archetype is that most of these LIGHT Psychic monsters can Special Summon themselves from the hand while 2 or more cards are in that column. Mekk-Knight Purple Nightfall is a consistency booster, as once it’s on the field, you can banish a Mekk-Knight to tutor a new one, then Mekk-Knight Blue Sky is the backup tutor option, able to search Mekk-Knight monsters up to the number of opponent’s cards in its column. So, isn’t it nice that Ken the Warrior Dragon and Gen the Diamond Tiger summon the other to the opponent’s field?
If you were waiting for the other shoe to drop, this was it, as Ken and Gen are an absolute godsend for this combo, Scars deck. You see, whenever Gen summons Ken to the opponent’s field, Ken will let you draw 2 cards and discard 1, advancing your gamestate that much closer to a successful Scars combo. If Ken summons a Gen to the opponent’s board, it forces the opponent to discard a card, giving you less potential interruptions to worry about. And if you summon one, then use Brain Control, Change of Heart, Mind Control, or Triple Tactics Talent to steal the other from the opponent’s control, you can benefit from both of their effects. This also happens to give you two Level 3 monsters to Xyz Summon Xyz Armor Torpedo, draw yet another card, then go into preparing a Full-Armored Xyz combo with Full Armored Dark Knight Lancer for the opponent’s first turn. This additional consistency and just sheer draw power contributes to a much more likely Scars resolution – just look at the test duels to see just how many times it gets pulled off!
