Cascade into a LINK Torrent!

Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for today’s Creative Deck Profile, this time taking the latest Icejade support card, Icejade Aegirine Rahn (YGOrg Translation), and seeing what it can do when incorporated into the Marincess strategy. Rahn is really cool for many reasons, but one of its most alluring traits is that it can discard another WATER monster from the hand to Special Summon itself and a non-tuner WATER Token. This gives you two WATER monsters to launch into a variety of Marincess combos, but I love using that to Synchro Summon Icejade Gymir Aegirine, then using the Level 10 Synchro as a Link Material in future combos. If you’re wondering why, just check out Gymir’s last effect – whenever your opponent banishes a card, Gymir can Special Summon itself back from the GY, giving you a bit extra interaction during the opponent’s turn. Either way, this is a super consistent introduction to combos due to the existence of Icejade Cradle to tutor your Rahn, or Icejade Aegirine to tutor your Cradle.
Now that we got through the neat support engine, let’s talk about the Marincess archetype, the meat and potatoes of today’s strategy. The Marincess archetype consist of WATER/Cyberse monsters that ultimately aim to Link Summon a LINK-4 monster to the Extra Monster Zone, sometimes even making it unaffected by your opponent’s card effects by using Marincess Crystal Heart as Link material, or as a backup, relying on Marincess Wave. Today I’m only using two of their LINK-4 options – Marincess Great Bubble Reef is the solid option to push your advantage, giving you extra draws every Standby Phase and an effect to recover a banished Marincess monster. The more interactive option is Marincess Aqua Argonaut, which can return a WATER monster you control and any card your opponent controls back to the hand, and it can negate an activated Spell/Trap or effect during the opponent’s turn. Making these monsters is super easy with the help of Marincess Dive, Marincess Mandarin, Marincess Springirl, Marincess Sea Horse, and Marincess Sleepy Maiden, all of which serve as extenders that can keep your plays going after you begin to Link Summon. Dive into the depths with the Marincess, aided by Icejade monsters!
