Strategic Summary:
Today’s profile introduces the Madolche archetype for the first time on my channel, joined by the Vernalizer Fairy archetype. Let’s start with sweets, shall we? The Madolche theme is a group of EARTH monsters of various types that shuffle themselves back into the deck when destroyed. Alternatively, if you control Madolche Chateau, you can instead return them to hand when any monster effect would return them into the deck. Shuffling these monsters back can trigger a number of effects, from Madolche Ticket tutoring a Madolche out of the deck, Madolche Salon tutoring a Madolche Spell/Trap card, to Madolche Puddingcess Chocolat-a-la-Mode, who can summon yet another Madolche monster from the deck. However you slice this pie, the Madolche theme has sweet sweet summons for days, topped off with a lovely bite of Madolche Queen Tiaramisu, which can spin up to 2 cards the opponent controls back into the deck. Combine this with all the starters you could ever want, from Madolche Anjelly and Madolche Hootcake to Madolche Magileine and Madolche Petingcessoeur.
Despite all these sweets, I hadn’t quite had enough, so I decided to turn to the Vernalizer Fairy to make use of adding all of these Madolche cards back to the hand. The Vernalizer Fairy theme are a group of EARTH Fairies that discard themselves and another EARTH monster to perform an effect then Special Summon an EARTH monster from the GY. For example, Vernalizer Fairy of Seedlings and Haze (YGOrg Translation) tutors any EARTH Fairy monster, such as Madolche Anjelly. In the latest wave of support out of Darkwing Blast, the Vernalizer Fairy archetype received its own boss in the form of Vera, the Vernalizer Fairy Goddess (YGOrg Translation), who gives any EARTH deck the ability to negate an opponent’s activated monster effect while you control at least 5 EARTH monsters. Since this condition is easy to meet with all the swarming Madolche offer, it offers an extra dimension to an archetype that has remained quite stagnant other than throwing in the latest Madolche support card whenever a new one is released. At any rate, this combination is sure to leave a cavity in your heart if you don’t try it out, so bring out the whipped cream and give it a taste – You might just end up enjoying it.
