The moon shines brighter with each mill.

Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for another CDP, as today’s features the Lunalight theme. The Lunalight archetype is a set of DARK Beast Warrior monsters that were intended to be used as a Fusion archetype; however, duelists quickly found that they also excel at making Xyz monsters as well. Lunalight Tiger is the primary reason for that, a Pendulum monster that carries a Pendulum Effect to Special Summon a fallen Level 4 or lower Lunalight. Since this effect is not once per turn, Tiger can be returned to hand multiple times, giving you an extra summon each time – such as via the effect of Lunalight Yellow Marten or Blackwing – Zephyros the Elite. While Tiger does negate the effects of a monster it Special Summons, this doesn’t faze Lunalight Kaledio Chick, which can still send a Lunalight from your Deck to the GY as a cost, giving you enough fodder to continuously bring back fallen moon-loving comrades. Or you can just go mass mill, with the second half of this strategy.
Yes, we all know the Ishizu cards as this point, but I wanted to take some time this week to iterate on a few of the ‘meta’ archetypes, so let’s talk about them in context here. The Ishizu/Exchange of the Spirit support were a modern attempt at a mill deck, with Kelbek the Ancient Vanguard and Agido the Ancient Sentinel milling at least 5 cards each. While milling, if you happen to mill a Luna Light Perfume, Lunalight Serenade Dance, Lunalight Emerald Bird, Lunalight Crimson Fox, or Lunalight Yellow Marten, that’s just bonus effects along the way! Not to mention the Lunalight archetype also gives you access to Bujinei Kagutsuchi for 5 extra mills. Plus, if absolutely necessary, you can look to Pilgrim Reaper for 5 more mills, which is accessible through the Raidraptor – Wise Strix combo with Raidraptor – Force Strix and summoned via the effect of Rank-Up-Magic Soul Shave Force. Embrace the dark side of the moon with the Lunalights and the Ishizu support, united!
