Strategic Summary:
Today’s CDP focuses on the most recent Ritual-based TCG World Premiere archetype, the Libromancer, leveraging their Special Summoning nature as Tribute for Monarchs! Yeah, that’s right – this build is about to be all over the place, and it’s just great. The Libromancer archetype primarily consists of a ton of Effect Monsters that can Special Summon themselves from the hand by revealing a Ritual Monster. Examples include Libromancer Fire, who happens to tutor a Libromancer monster on summon, or Libromancer Geek Boy, who tutors a Libromancer Spell on summon. They’re supported by Libromancer First Appearance, a Field Spell that tutors a Libromancer on activation, as well as allowing you to Ritual Summon a Libromancer monster as many times as you would like using its effect. The primary Libromancer Ritual of note in here is Libromancer Doombroker, who can set a Libromancer Trap each turn to setup future disruption of the opponent’s options. Rituals or not, the Libromancer theme naturally spams a lot of cards onto the board, so let’s talk about how this build makes the best use of them!
The Monarch archetype is that answer, a group of high-leveled monsters that trigger powerful effects when they are Tribute Summoned. The optimal case for this deck is to use the Libromancer monsters to Tribute Summon Zaborg the Mega Monarch, a Level 8 that can destroy a monster on the field, then if that monster was LIGHT, mill cards from both player’s Extra Deck up to the destroyed monster’s Level. This can really ruin the gameplan for certain strategies, while also supporting your own, because that’s right, Herald of the Arc Light gets you to more Ritual Monsters to continue extending your plays! Other good options for you to mill are Fossil Warrior Skull Knight or Fossil Machine Skull Wagon for delayed destruction during a future turn, Garura, Wings of Resonant Life for a draw, or even Golden Cloud Beast – Malong if you need to bounce an opponent’s card. Given all this power, clearly your goal should be to maximize access to Zaborg, and that my friends is where Seventh Tachyon (YGOrg Translation) comes into play. In here, Seventh Tachyon is a Normal Spell that can reveal either Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon, to tutor Zaborg the Mega Monarch or Ehther the Heavenly Monarch, OR reveal Number 105: Battlin’ Boxer Star Cestus, to tutor Libromancer Fire. This ensures consistency for either side of your deck, especially after you factor in the Magicians’ Souls/Illusion of Chaos engine to draw even more cards to get what you need. Hope you enjoy this strategy that combines Special and Tribute Summoning for ultimate power plays!
