Creative Deck Profile: 7-Axis Kshatri-La Kaiju Danger! with Instant Contact, ft. DABL Support

Want to banish all of the things face-down?

    Replays:

    Strategic Summary:

Welcome back to a profile on a new archetype, this time centered on the Kshatri-La archetype which debuted in the set that just released to the OCG. This Psychic type archetype consists of Level 7 Effect monsters that can all be Special Summoned while you control no monsters and is led by a Rank 7 Xyz monster, Kshatri-La Shangri-La (YGOrg Translation). Whenever a card is banished face-down while you control this 3000 DEF boss monster, Shangri-La blocks one of your opponent’s Main Monster or Spell/Trap Card Zones, preventing them from being used while it remains face-up. This also synergizes extremely well with the other Rank 7 Xyz monster that banishes cards face-down, Number 89: Diablosis the Mind Hacker. In a past life this may have been a TCG prize card, but after its reprint in Brothers of Legend less than a year ago, this is back to being accessible by all, and it can banish a lot of cards facedown. Going back to the main Effect monsters, they also banish cards facedown, whether it is Kshatri-La Fenrir (YGOrg Translation) banishing face-up cards, Kshatri-La Ogre (YGOrg Translation) banishing from the Deck, or Kshatri-La Unicorn (YGOrg Translation) banishing from the Extra Deck. Finally, supporting these monsters is a Continuous Spell and a Continuous Trap, each constantly recovering a Kshatri-La monster from your GY or that is banished, to keep the fun going.

With only 6 cards, this theme really doesn’t have enough to stand alone yet. But that’s why we turn to other great Level 7 options. The Level 7 Kaijus, Radian, the Multidimensional Kaiju and Kumoungous, the Sticky String Kaiju easily summon themselves from the hand, while the Level 7 Danger! monsters, Danger! Nessie! and Danger! Wolfman! do so as well while drawing through your deck. On the other hand, Gizmek Uka, the Festive Fox of Fecundity Special Summons itself from the hand, and if your opponent has an EARTH monster, brings a Fenrir along with it. Instant Contact also offers a Level 7 monster, this time directly from the Extra Deck and in the form of Elemental HERO Dark Neos. If none of these Level 7 options are enough to give you access to Rank 7 monsters, you can also turn to Eater of Millions who will quickly grow in strength as you banish more and more cards. Entrap the opponent in a web of indecision with the help of the Kshatri-La Kaijus!
