Emperor Charles is on the Case!

    Strategic Summary:

Welcome back for another Creative Deck Profile, and today we’re combining the strengths of Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and Link Monsters due to all of the archetypes at play. First up we have the K9, a group of Level 5 monsters that punish the opponent for activating a monster effect in the hand or GY. If they do, K9-17 Izuna is ready to Special Summon itself from the hand, send K9-ØØ Lupis from the Deck to the GY, then enable an early Xyz Summon of K9-17 “Ripper”. As the rookie K9 monster to join the investigation, K9-04 Noroi (YGOrg Translation) is a Machine that Special Summons a non-Machine K9 monster on Normal Summon, giving you new ways to kick off your play even before the opponent uses a Monster effect in hand. The other new addition is a new R5NK Xyz Monster, K9-666 “Jacks” (YGOrg Translation), a DARK Fiend that destroys a monster on the field on Xyz Summon or when the opponent activates a Monster effect in their hand or GY. In short, the K9 serve as an efficient core, that the rest of the deck can enhance depending on which combos you draw into!

The next archetype at play is the Flame Swordsman, and this is your ideal theme to tap into when going 2nd. The Flame Swordsman theme aims to make Ultimate Flame Swordsman, give him absurd amounts of ATK and the ability to attack twice, then turn him loose to OTK an unsuspecting opponent. Even if you aren’t shooting for the FTK, the new Dark Flare Swordsman gives the deck better access to the whole Fighting Flame Swordsman combo lineup, including setting a copy of Salamandra with Chain to the backrow to disrupt the opponent. Beyond the Flame Swordsman options, I’m also tapping into other FIRE Warrior monsters – the Infernoble Knights! Led by Emperor Charles the Great, this engine aims to deploy Infernoble Knight – Renaud alongside Fighting Flame Swordsman to make Angelica, Princess of Noble Arms, then ending on either one or two copies of your LINK-1 omni negate. This also pairs well with the Flame Swordsman support, since Salamandra, the Flying Flame Dragon is one of the ideal ways to trigger Angelica! Hope you enjoy this blazing deck, but we’re moving onto another TCG-legal build next, one that will take full advantage of all of the 2025 tin reprints!
