Strategic Summary:
Today’s CDP closes out the week with another Fiendish foray, as the Infernity archetype is featured once again. This archetype of DARK Fiends can only thrive while you are sitting on an empty hand, making them quite the unique archetype. Whether it is the consistency offered by your newly freed 3 copies of Infernity Archfiend or the recovery offered by Infernity Necromancer, Infernity Mirage, Infernity Launcher, Infernity General, or This Creepy Little Punk, this deck has all of the tools one needs to find success. The true power of the Infernity archetype is its lack of hard once-per-turn restrictions, allowing you to combo through your monsters so many times, tutoring an entire backrow of disruption including Infernity Barrier, Infernity Break, and Infernity Suppression, plus a field of Extra Deck bosses. There really isn’t any other deck like it, which is just the thing that attracts me.
Now you probably noticed that I’m pairing another archetype with the Infernity today, and that’s the Horus theme, so let me sell you on that. The Horus archetype has appeared ever so many times in my profiles, not only because it is just that flexible, but also because it carries a high power level. Once you get King’s Sarcophagus on your board, you can always get up to 4 free monsters back from your GY each turn. In any deck, that’s amazing, but Infernity can use this to bolster their already impressive endboard to wipe through any resistance your opponent attempts to mount. On the other hand, the Horus engine also helps empty your hand, to ensure your Infernity combos can go off with out a hitch. You see, with King’s Sarcophagus, you can send up to 4 cards from your hand to the GY, and that’s easily enough to free up any hand you might draw into. Take a stand with the combo deck of old, with a new and improved take on Infernity!
