Strategic Summary:
Welcome back to another CDP, this time taking on a request to combine two LP-losing themes into one strategy, so hopefully you enjoy the self-inflicted pain and suffering of this deck. Gold Pride is no stranger to my channel, as this archetype combines their monsters of various Types, Attributes, and Levels to Synchro Summon Gold Pride – Star Leon, Xyz Summon Gold Pride – Chariot Carrie, Fusion Summon Gold Pride – Pin Baller, and Link Summon Gold Pride – Nytro Blaster. Each of these boss monsters return themselves to the Extra Deck during the End Phase of a turn in which their effect was activated, Special Summoning their associated Main Deck Gold Pride monster in its place. As for the Main Deck monsters, they support all of this summoning by being able to Special Summon themselves from the hand while your LP is lower than the opponent’s. Moving past the monsters, Gold Pride also have a few excellent support cards, such as Gold Pride – Start Your Engines! which can destroy an opponent’s summoned monster while Special Summoning a Gold Pride monster from the deck. For the spells, the best is clearly Gold Pride – Better Luck Next Time! as it serves to tutor your Gold Pride monsters, as well as offer you a consolation draw whenever a Gold Pride monster returns to the Extra Deck. Remember, to achieve a lot of the Gold Pride plays, you need to have less LP than your opponent… so, let’s bring on the self-inflicted LP damage of the Evil Eye archetype.
Evil Eye is up next, and this is an archetype of DARK Fiend monsters that revolve around two Equip Spells: Evil Eye of Selene and Evil Eye of Gorgoneio. Selene boosts the ATK of the equipped Evil Eye monster by 500, at the cost of 500 LP, every time an Evil Eye Spell/Trap is activated. On the other hand, Gorgoneio is the payoff for this hybrid, increasing the ATK of an Evil Eye monster by the difference between your LP and your opponent’s. Beyond these Equips, Serziel, Watcher of the Evil Eye is your main go-to Summon, tutoring an Evil Eye card such as Evil Eye Defeat or Evil Eye Retribution, both of which add a bit more disruption to stop an opponent and open them up to an OTK. Don’t forget, Serziel is searchable himself through the theme’s Field Spell, so you also have that going for you!
Now the final piece of this deck is to help you break boards and have even more material at your disposal for various Extra Deck summons, and that’s precisely where the Kashtira come in. Whether it is Kashtira Unicorn to tutor Kashtira Birth and summon back a Kashtira from your GY or banished pile every turn, or Kashtira Fenrir to just apply pressure to the opponent, you have the tools to control the duel, one removal at a time. In short, this strategy mixes those disruptive elements of the Kashtira, combined with the disruptive elements offered by the Evil Eye, then adding on the explosive power of Gold Pride combos…. all of this is a catalyst for really fun duels. No LP is spared when dueling with this deck. If you like to live life on the edge, Start Your Engines and get ready to watch an opponent say Gold Pride – That Came Out of Nowhere!
