    Strategic Summary:

Welcome back for another CDP of one of my IRL decklists, and today I am showcasing my refined version of Gladiator Beast [GB], now with some great new tools. The GB archetype is best known for their core mechanic of Fusion Summoning without a Spell Card, as you can access their Fusion bosses by shuffling material on the Field back into the Deck. Gladiator Beast Tamer Editor is the best of that, since once you do, it can then cheat out another Gladiator Beast Fusion from the Extra Deck. To get to the required material, Gladiator Beast Gistel is your best choice for getting 2 GB monsters from your hand onto the field, since it also happens to tutor a Gladiator S/T when summoned by the effect of a GB monster, including itself! Add in Flavian – Colosseum of the Gladiator Beasts and Gladiator Proving Ground, and you have plenty of options to get the right GB you need for the situation. The latest wave of support gave us Gladiator Beast Claudius, a new Level 12 behemoth that gives you a second Battle Phase the turn it is summoned, plus it is the first GB Fusion to Special Summon itself by shuffling material from your GY, not just your field.

All this new support was great at creating a solid theme, but to my perspective, it wasn’t quite enough to put it over the edge into viability. That was, until the K9 theme was released in Justice Hunters to give them more insulation to hand Traps and another potential combo line. You see, K9-17 “Ripper” is a great R5NK Xyz Monster that tutors a K9 card while also being able to negate a monster effect activated in the hand or GY. You can even make Ripper during your normal GB combo, by sending Gladiator Beast Noxious to the GY with Gladiator Beast Attorix, then bringing Noxious back to your field with Gladiator Beast Darius. On the other hand, the Tri-Brigade engine adds another dimension to the deck, empowering Rescue Cat to also grab you Tri-Brigade Kerass the roundabout way via Tri-Brigade Kitt. This doesn’t slow down your main combos at all, while giving you additional pressure from Tri-Brigade Shuraig the Ominous Omen to seal the duel.
