Strategic Summary:
WATER themes collide in today’s Creative Deck Profile that combines three Deep Sea archetypes into one cohesive strategy. First up we have the Gishki, a WATER Ritual theme that has three different monsters that can be used as the entire Tribute for a Ritual Summon: Gishki Grimness, Gishki Vision, and Gishki Shadow. They each all have a second purpose, with Grimness Special Summoning another Gishki on Summon (typically Gishki Abyss to tutor another Gishki), Gishki Vision tutoring a Gishki Ritual, and Gishki Shadow tutoring a Gishki Ritual Spell. If that wasn’t enough consistency, the theme also has Focused Aquamirror, a Normal Spell that tutors any Gishki monster, for free! The boss Ritual that you’ll probably be angling to summon is Evigishki Neremanas, a Level 10 Ritual that Special Summons a WATER monster from your GY on Ritual Summon, plus it can negate a monster effect. If you happen to get out multiple copies, each effect can be used multiple times: there’s no hard once per turn to be seen!
Alright, we’ve covered the Gishki, but now let’s talk about the more recent stars – the new Ice Barrier support that just hit TCG shores with Terminal Revenge a few weeks ago. The new support is led by Mirror Magic Master of the Ice Barrier, a Level 2 Tuner that can tribute any other Effect Monster to Special Summon up to 3 Ice Barrier Tokens. This may not seem like much, but it can enable chains of WATER Synchro Summons, from their new Lancea, Dragonic Ancestor of the Ice Spirit Mountain to Trishula, Zero Dragon of the Ice Barrier. You can even branch out beyond the Ice Barriers, to generic options like Adamancipator Risen – Dragite or Ravenous Crocodragon Archethys. Or instead, you can turn to the other WATER themes at play today…
That’s right, I also brought the Ghoti along for the ride. You see, I’ve really fallen in love with this originally TCG-World Premiere Fish theme, and I’ve found that they’re best in small doses, with minimal engines. Why not rely on accessing them through the effect of Arionopos, Serpent of the Ghoti, banishing your copy of Psiics, Moonlight of the Ghoti? Once these Fish start being banished, even more Synchro options are unlocked, whether it is Ghoti of the Deep Beyond to banish the whole field or Askaan, the Bicorned Ghoti to banish an opponent’s threat. Oh, and they have access to White Aura Whale on the opponent’s turn, isn’t that awesome!? The last new card that deserves a shoutout here is Fishborg Harpooner, a new Level 4 Fish Tuner that can reveal itself and another WATER monster to Special Summon one of them. This works great to extend your plays, even if your opponent tries to stop you with a pesky hand trap, and I’m a big fan of using it here. Hope you enjoy this fun amalgamation with today’s fresh Catch of the Day!
