Strategic Summary:
TCG-World Premiere themes unite in this hybrid strategy that features both the Gate Guardian legacy support and the Gold Pride archetypes. The new Gate Guardian support builds upon the foundation provided by Sanga of the Thunder, Suijin, and Kazejin to empower your board with Gate Guardian Fusion monsters. One example is Gate Guardian of Thunder and Wind, which tutors any card that mentions all three of your Gate Guardian components. To ensure you get the Fusion Materials that you need, this build features Labyrinth Heavy Tank, Shadow Ghoul of the Labrynth, and Elemental HERO Prisma, accessed through A Hero Lives. Across all of these options, there is one key support card that ensures that the Gate Guardians end duels on their terms: Riryoku Guardian. This Normal Spell can be activated whenever your LP is lower than the opponent’s, and when it is, it halves your opponent’s LP and gives that amount as bonus ATK to a Gate Guardian monster. Wouldn’t it be great to have a way to lower your LP to almost always ensure that you have less than your opponent? Oh wait, that’s exactly what the Gold Pride archetype does!
For the Gold Pride side of this deck, it’s pretty straightforward. Step One: spam to the field. Step Two: Tutor your Gold Pride – Better Luck Next Time! or Gold Pride – The Crowd Goes Wild! Spells via Gold Pride – Chariot Carrie. Step Three: Win with a Gate Guardian attack, or choose to wipe out your opponents’ monster threats first with Gold Pride – Pin Baller. If all of that isn’t enough to OTK, I also threw in a few copies of Ceasefire for fun, as this deck will typically build up a sizable number of monsters to make that burn damage count in a pinch. Be off to the races with the two TCG World Premiere archetypes, the Gate Guardians and Gold Pride.

Excellent work McCoy!! I was looking for something that could go along the new Guardians. Now, may you be able to make a control build that aims to win with Chaos Emperor Dragon’s burn? I’m having a hard time with it because of CED’s errata that forbids any other effects for the turn. It’s much easier to wipe everything with Norleras, but I’m aiming for burn. Thank you.
There is definitely potential to run a build centered around Chaos monsters, including CED and BLS-EotB and their support Spell Primal Seed. And in that case, CED can be used as a finisher after you’ve already attacked a few times. But due to its restriction, you really will never be able to fully rely on it dealing all 8000 dmg. I’d check out one of my older profiles, https://ygorganization.com/cdp_chaos/ , as that included CED and sort of gets at the strategy behind going oonga boonga with big Chaos mons.
