Strategic Summary:

Today’s CDP features the return of my beloved Flame Swordsman theme to my channel, and this time we’re pairing them with another Equip Spell-based archetype, the Mikanko! Now that you’re back, let’s talk about how the two archetypes interact. First up, the Flame Swordsman cards are just such a great compact engine, requiring very little to engage their full potential. With Fighting Flame Swordsman or Fighting Flame Sword, you can quickly build up a full combo into an equipped Ultimate Flame Swordsman, threatening to end the duel with mad side eye and a direct attack. But if that wasn’t enough OTK pressure for you, the Mikanko side of the deck also threatens to OTK the opponent at the drop of a hat. By redirecting battle damage to the opponent when an equipped Hu-Li the Jewel Mikanko, Ha-Re the Sword Mikanko, or Ni-Ni the Mirror Mikanko battles, you can quickly wipe out your opponent’s LP bar even if they try to throw monsters on the field to prevent Ultimate’s direct attack. Also, the Salamandra Fusion Equip Spell used to unlock Ultimate also happens to be something you can recycle with Oohime the Manifested Mikanko, allowing you to make even more Ultimate Flame Swordsman as the duel goes on. Finally, FIRE Warrior support cards also join the fray, with Immortal Phoenix Gearfried and Infernoble Knight – Renaud offering even more disruption and recovery to a deck that already excels at both. If you want to equip yourself with an OTK monster, look no further than the Flame Swordsman/Mikanko hybrid strategy!
