Pity there wasn’t a LIGHT Fiend Level 4 Normal Monster… UNTIL NOW!

Strategic Summary:
Today’s CDP features the new Fiendsmith archetype, and if I had to describe it in a sentence, it serves as fairly generic support to all LIGHT Fiend monsters. The Fiendsmith (YGOrg Translation) is the main Effect Monster: while it is able to be discarded to tutor a Fiendsmith S/T, its more important effect is to Special Summon itself from the GY by shuffling back another LIGHT Fiend from your GY into the Deck. The rest of this archetype sits in the Extra Deck, as Fiendsmith Reqiuem (YGOrg Translation) is a LINK-1 that Special Summons any Fiendsmith monster from the hand/Deck by tributing itself, and Fiendsmith Sequentia (YGOrg Translation) is a LINK-2 that Fusion Summons a Fiend monster by shuffling materials from the GY into the deck. On the Fusion side, Fiendsmith Lacrimosa (YGOrg Translation) is made with any 2 LIGHT Fiends and gets to Special Summon a LIGHT Fiend from your GY or banishment when Fusion Summoned. What makes this consistent is Fiendsmith Tractus (YGOrg Translation), the Normal Spell of the archetype that tutors any LIGHT Fiend monster, plus it carries an effect in the GY to Fusion Summon a Fiendsmith!
Now that we’ve covered the new theme, let’s talk about Pity (YGOrg Translation), the new Level 4 LIGHT Fiend Normal Monster – this is the all-important bridge as we move into the Magikey side of the deck, because as you know, the Magikey archetype is intrinsically paired to Normal Monsters. The goal of the Magikey theme is to Fusion, Ritual, Xyz, or Synchro Summon using a Normal Monster as material, as when you do so, these boss monsters gain additional effects based on the attributes of monsters in your GY. For example, Magikey Mechmortar – Gareglasser, the Level 8 Ritual, can negate the activation of the effect of a monster with the same Attribute as a monster in your GY. On the other hand, Magikey Fiend – Transfurlmine, the Level 8 Synchro, can destroy a Normal or Special Summoned monster with the same Attribute as a monster in your GY. To ensure consistency, the Magikey have a joint Fusion/Ritual Spell in Magikey Maftea, which lets you use a Normal Monster material from the deck, if you control a Normal Monster.
Besides the two archetype support cards, I’ve also included a few noteworthy tech options to flesh out the deck. First up is Ringowurm, the Dragon Guarding the Hundred Apples. This Level 2 Tuner can effectively be used twice to Synchro ladder, but it also is easily Special Summoned when you have a non-Effect monster on your board. Next is High Ritual Art and Advanced Ritual Art, the former uses Normal Monster(s) in hand to Ritual Summon from your Deck, and the latter uses Normal Monsters in Deck to Ritual Summon from your hand. They’re both great ways to get out Mechmortar, fill your GY with more Attributes, or Ritual Summon an enabled Black Luster Soldier – Legendary Swordsman. The last tech is Dark Factory of Mass Production, which may seem like something strange to highlight, but it works very well with the Ritual Arts, the discard for Tractus, and the Maftea tutor effect of Magikey World, all of which just need plenty of resources in the hand. Unlock the Magikey’s true potential by adding The Fiendsmith!

I was going to make a comment about using some of the Doll Monsters (because Princess Cologne and Box of Friend work great with either the 2000/0 normal monster or the 0/2000+ normal monsters Magikey decks normally choose from) especially with the preference of using Grandpa Demetto’s effect to summon Magikey Deity – Ashtartu… but you didn’t use any of the Xyz Magikey so it became kind of a moot point.
Not gonna lie. Completely forgot about Fiendsmith lol
Magical musket works pretty well with fiendsmith too. A decklist for it would be cool.
That CDP is nearly finalized for next month- it’ll be one that comes out in May.
Nice
