Spellcasters weave wonderous Fairy Tail Tales.

Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for another CDP, and today we’re tackling Spellcasters to showcase the new Fairy Tail support that is coming soon in the BLZD core set… Before we get too deep, let me address the elephant in the room – Fairy Tail – Snow may still be Forbidden in the TCG, but we’re still going to make this strategy work without it! This newly-defined Archetype is best covered by starting with its ‘boss’ monsters, Level 4 Fusion Monsters and a R4NK Xyz. First up is Chronicler of Fairy Tail Tales (YGOrg Translation), which prevents Fairy Tail monsters from being destroyed in battle, plus it can banish a Fairy Tail card from GY for an omni-negate. It also can destroy all cards your opponent controls if you use a ‘Fairy Prince’ as material, but we’ll get to that. Second you have Weaver of Fairy Tail Tales (YGOrg Translation), which can Special Summon any Fairy Tail from Deck or banishment once per turn, plus when you Summon a non-Fusion Fairy Tail, it negates the effects of an Effect Monster the opponent controls and turns its name to ‘Fairy Prince’. As for the Xyz, you have Fairy Tail – Wickat (YGOrg Translation), which makes LIGHT Fairy Tail monsters unaffected by your opponents’ activated effects, plus it can detach up to 2 material to send that many Fairy Tail cards from the Deck to the GY. Its most important effect is that it can summon itself from the GY by sending a LIGHT Fairy Tail you control instead, triggering Weaver’s effect on demand.
Alright, you met the bosses, now let’s meet the grunts that make the deck function. Fairy Tail – Luna has been around for a while, tutoring any Spellcaster with 1850 ATK on summon (which just happens to be this whole archetype!). Fairy Tail – Matchlille (YGOrg Translation) is the new addition, able to Special Summon itself from hand or GY while you control a Spellcaster with 1850 ATK, it also tutors a Fairy Tail S/T on summon, and it can let you rename a monster your opponent controls to become ‘Fairy Prince’. All these Princesses need somewhere to shine, so Fairy Tail Ball (YGOrg Translation) pulls it all together as the theme’s Field Spell, tutoring a Fairy Tail monster on activation, then when your opponent Special Summons a monster while you control a Fairy Tail, it negates that monsters’ effects and re-names it ‘Fairy Prince’. Last up on the important-to-explain list is their payoff Equip Spell, Tales of Fairy Tail (YGOrg Translation), which lets you Fusion Summon any Spellcaster using monsters from your hand or field OR any ‘Fairy Prince’ the opponent controls! It also can re-equip itself from the GY to a Fairy Tail you control, then give you an immediate Normal Summon of a Spellcaster with 1850 ATK.
So I’ve explained the cards, how do they work? In short, you get 2 Spellcasters to the board, make Wickat, send Matchlille to the GY to bring it back and tutor Tales, and voila, you have access to everything you need! So that got me thinking, what’s the best way to get 2 Level 4 Spellcasters… and I turned to the new Endymion engine centered around Regulus, the Prince of Endymion (YGOrg Translation). This Level 4 Spellcaster can Special Summon itself from hand by revealing another Spellcaster, then when you do, it adds a Spell that mentions it from deck to hand. The obvious choice is Endymion Empire (YGOrg Translation), a Continous Spell that can tutor Verre, the Maid of Endymion (YGOrg Translation), another Level 4 Spellcaster that Special Summons itself. Verre also grabs you a Witchcrafter S/T for your trouble, letting you branch into other combos as well, such as grabing Witchcrafter Creation, then using that to tutor Genni, the Maid of Endymion (YGOrg Translation). Maid-Genni gives you accesss to any Witchcrafter monster from your deck, and as you should be well aware, opens the floodgates to gaining even more card advantage off of Witchcrafter Vice-Madame.
