Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for today’s profile, featuring a blend of LIGHT and DARK archetypes that love to be discarded. On the first hand, you have the Dark World archetype, led by Grapha, Dragon Overlord of Dark World, which helps to accelerate your gameplan along, while throwing up disruption opportunities along the way. With the right setup, you can even rip a few cards out of your opponent’s starting hand with the combination of Ceruli, Guru of Dark World and Sillva, Warlord of Dark World. But the true star of the modern Dark World package is Genta, Gateman of Dark World, a Level 4 DARK that can discard itself to tutor The Gates of Dark World, the theme’s Field Spell. Additionally, whenever Genta is banished while you have a face-up Dark World card (such as by and with the aforementioned Gates), it will Special Summon itself back!
Now the other half of this build stems from the Fabled archetype, which consists of LIGHT Fiends and LIGHT Beast monsters, who aim to Synchro Summon with the best of them. Fabled Andwraith is the easiest to make in this hybrid, and it forces your opponent to make a decision of whether or not to allow you to draw 2 cards then discard 1; should they choose to stop it by discarding, you’ve just given yourself one less card you’ll need to stop on their subsequent turn! But this hybrid doesn’t just give you access to Fabled Synchro monsters, the world is very much your oyster here. Lets talk about options: Ancient Pixie Dragon gets you an additional draw when you activate a Field Spell, Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon adds an additional monster negate, or the new Chaos Angel (YGOrg Translation) grants protection to your board as well as a targeted banish. Speaking of Chaos Angel, this build has a many ways to get to summoning it, such as Synchro Summoning The Fabled Cerburrel or The Fabled Abanc with Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World. Or you can turn to the less traditional method of Rabled Ragin and Sillva. Or Andwraith and a Genta. Or Ancient Pixie and Fabled Kushano… In short, you have so much access to this boss monster, that this hybrid strategy receives a significant boost when it arrives to the TCG in CYAC. Enter the Fabled Dark World; it will be fun, I promise!
