Do LIGHT Xyz ‘Spark’ your interest?

Strategic Summary:
Welcome to today’s CDP, and this time, we’re closing out the month of May with a very casual build, with a few nuggets of cool ideas! Today’s build was inspired by a request to use Electrode Beast Cation (YGOrg Translation) and Electrode Beast Anion (YGOrg Translation) in a deck, so let me know how you think I did! When Normal Summoned, Cation tutors Anion from your deck, then lets you immediately Normal Summon an additional Thunder Monster. On the other side, Anion, when Normal Summoned, becomes Level 4, then tutors or recovers a copy of Spirit Converter. Once it’s on the field, Cation can then turn itself into Level 4 as well, unlocking your Extra Deck for potential further plays. What makes this setup a bit awkward is that Anion and Cation are originally Level 2, making them semi-incompatible with the Hunder theme (Mahunder/Pahunder) that was released alongside Spirit Converter in the first place. Nevertheless, we press onwards, as the Thunder Type does have a few other tricks, such as being able to use Thunder Dragons’ Hundred Thunders to Special Summon many Thunder monsters at one time!
As for the rest of the deck, it is all about building off of this base of LIGHT Electrode Beasts to make further Xyz plays. With the help of the new Galaxy War Drake (YGOrg Translation), any Level 4 Special Summoned monster (like Diana the Light Spirit) can be turned into Level 8, allowing for the Xyz Summon of something like Dragluxion (YGOrg Translation) or Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy. Even without War Drake, you can use any 2 LIGHT Level 4 monsters to Xyz Summon Galaxy Photon Dragon, opening your combos to Galaxy Solider, or even Galaxy Hundred, which can send either Photon Jumper to tutor or Photon Emperor to get a free body and an additional LIGHT Normal Summon. If you do have to stick with R4NK Xyz monsters, Number 39: Utopia Double isn’t a bad choice, as it can upgrade into Ultimate Leo Utopia Ray, equip a ZW – Pegasus Twin Saber, and give your field another disruptive threat. Either way, embrace the fun of the casual, with this mix of LIGHT themes, Thunder Monsters, and Xyz bosses!
