Strategic Summary:

Welcome back for another Creative Deck Profile, and it’s about time I started featuring the new Dragunity Support cards from the OCG’s Terminal World 3 set. The Dragunity archetype features WIND Winged Beast non-Tuners that join with mostly Dragon Tuners to Synchro Summon and unlock big Dragon bosses. What new cards did they get? Well for starters, they get a new amazing Starter in Dragunity Quirinus (YGOrg Translation), a Level 4 Winged Beast that tutors a Dragunity S/T on summon. This adds to Dragunity Knight – Romulus, giving you more access than ever before to your Spells such as Dragunity Glow and Dragunity Divine Lance. Next, they received a new Tuner in Dragunity Falchion (YGOrg Translation) which can equip another Dragon Dragunity from the deck to a Dragunity you control; effectively serving as a Monster version of their former Equip Spell. To me, the most impactful new card is Dragunity Lord – Georgius (YGOrg Translation), a LINK-4 that summons Level 5+ Dragunity bosses from your Extra Deck or GY, with a Quick Effect to negate an activated S/T, plus it also prevents the opponent from activating monster effects in the GY while equipped… yes, this is quite the new boss monster!

All of these new tools shore up major weaknesses for the previous Dragunity deck – not only do they get a better endboard, but with a better starter, extension options, and recovery potential, they are much less derailed by a disruptions than ever before. All three are also accentuated by their new Field Spell, Dragunity Divine Wind (YGOrg Translation), that not only recovers a Dragon or Winged Best, but also summons a Dragunity from the hand before equipping it with a Dragunity from your Deck, as long as you have a copy of Dragon Ravine – their original Field Spell – in the GY! With all of these new tools, it only makes sense to try and raise the power ceiling, which is why I’ve included a small DoomZ engine, primarily accessed via Hieratic Dragon King of Atum or Hieratic Seals of the Heavenly Spheres. You see, either can bring out DoomZ V Five – Amalthe, getting you to your DoomZ XII Zero – Drastea, letting you faux-Xyz Summon during the opponents turn for multiple negations! It’s a low-risk engine with massive impact, so something worth checking out.
