Strategic Summary:
Today’s CDP features the return of the D/D/D to my channel, fresh off their new wave of support both in the upcoming DOOD core set and their newly imported Surveyor cards. This DARK/Fiend Pendulum archetype has access to Fusions, Synchros, Xyzs, and Links, and each of those card types got support in the new wave! Starting with the most impactful, we have the new Scale-0 Pendulum, D/D/D Zero Demise King Zero Machinex (YGOrg Translation). This Level 8 monster is the new ideal starter for the deck, as it places a Dark Contract S/T from your Deck to your field if it was activated as a Pendulum Spell. Additionally, once it is in your Extra Deck, it can summon itself back to your board and destroy a card on the field. This pairs extremely well with the new Dark Contract With the Zero King (YGOrg Translation), a Continuous Spell that destroys a D/D card you control to Special Summon a D/D monster from the deck. This eliminates the Normal Summon chokepoint when you summon D/D Savant Kepler or D/D Savant Copernicus, ensuring both appear every duel. The last top-tier new card they’ll be receiving is D/D/D Sky King Zeus Ragnarök (YGOrg Translation), a LINK-3 that gives you an additional Pendulum Summon during the turn, plus an in-theme way to negate an opponent’s monster effect in the hand.
Beyond all of these new combo pieces, the deck also received an insane new boss to add to its plentiful lineup of threats. Introducing D/D/D/D Great Dimension King Arc Crisis (YGOrg Translation) – it is so powerful that they’ve added a FOURTH D. Summoned by banishing a Fiend Pendulum, Synchro, Fusion, and Xyz from your field/GY, it storms out of your Extra Deck, negates all face-up monsters the opponent controls, and can attack all monsters they control once each. If you banished D/D/D Founder King Clovis (YGOrg Translation) and D/D/D Wisdom King Solomon (YGOrg Translation) for its summon, it will also have piercing and the Flame Wingman burn effect. All of this damage adds up substantially, leading to easier times ending the duel… if you need it! As it was before, D/D remains a combo deck that aims to lock the opponent out of playing the game – just watch the replays to see it in action.

Wasting valuable card space with card like Nightmare Throne just to feel cute. Running hand trap against drawing when D/D/D should give you 5+ hard negates on a proper board and doesnt care what opponent does. Running 1 of 3-ofs, running 2-3 of 1-ofs. As i a long long LONG time D/D/D player, you have like 95% of the ideal list then three stuff in that isnt needed.
Nightmare Throne is more consistency, it gets you to Kepler or Corpenicus. Though I don’t know how necessary it is with the new support
its a starter and a bait for hand trap so throne is pretty good
