Strategic Summary:

Welcome to today’s Creative Deck Profile, this time taking the TCG World Premiere Flame Swordsman cards for a joyride! This theme was build around the iconic Level 5 FIRE Warrior Fusion monster, so let’s talk about how they built a theme around it! First up was Fighting Flame Swordsman, a Level 4 that tutors any S/T that mentions Flame Swordsman [FS]. Additionally, when sent to the GY, you can send a monster that mentions FS from your Deck or Extra Deck to the GY. Typically, you’ll send Salamandra, the Flying Flame Dragon, as this will tutor a Salamandra S/T when sent to the GY. Moving on, let’s talk about these support S/Ts for FS. Flame Swordsrealm is first, a Continuous Spell that trades a monster in hand or on your field for a FS from your Extra Deck. Next, you’ll want Salamandra Fusion, an Equip Spell that can send itself and an equipped Fusion monster to faux-Fusion Summon a monster that lists FS from your Extra Deck. This is where the new boss of the theme comes in – Ultimate Flame Swordsman. Ultimate boasts an effect to double its ATK during the Battle Phase, plus it can destroy a monster your opponent controls, inflicting 500 dmg as well! This is an OTK beast, especially once you equip your Salamandra, Flying Flame Dragon or Fighting Flame Dragon to it to boost its prowess in battle.

Moving on from the new Flame Swordsman stuff, let’s talk about the other Warrior support cards that recently made their debut as TCG World Premieres also! First up is Double Dai, a Normal Trap that can Special Summon a Level 4 Warrior, if you control no monsters, or you can Special Summon an EARTH Warrior with an equal or less level than a Warrior you control. This is primarily used to access Battleguard Cadet, as Cadet will tutor you Feast of the Wild LV5, which works well with your Level 5 FS monsters. Speaking of Battleguards, you also have the new Battleguard Echos, a Continuous Spell that tutors a Level 5 EARTH Warrior on activation. For options, you can grab Amazoness War Chief, which can then grab a Polymerization, you can grab Pyrite Knight, to recycle your EARTH or FIRE Warriors while giving your opponent a monster to control, or you can grab Shield of the Millennium Dynasty (YGOrg Translation), a Level 5 EARTH Warrior monster that can Special Summon itself at the small cost of 2000 LP. Any way you go, you’ll have plenty of power to string plays together.

As a final hurrah, I also want to highlight a few other cards, specifically the Star Warrior monsters. You see, Todoroki the Earthbolt Star and Kaiki the Unity Star each carry effects to allow Fusion Summons, letting you access bosses like Shura the Combat Star, Idaten the Conqueror Star, or Raijin the Breakbolt Star. If you want to be cheeky, you can even summon Gilti-Gearfried the Magical Star Knight, triggering its effect during the opponent’s turn with Fighting Flame Dragon! Wield Joey’s iconic Warrior of Flames, with the new Flame Swordsman Strategy!
