Strategic Summary:
Hi everyone, and welcome to a new Creative Deck Profile, this time featuring the Dream Mirror archetype in a supporting role to Xyz Summoning. The Dream Mirror archetype revolves around twin Field Spells, Dream Mirror of Terror and Dream Mirror of Joy, each of which enable your Dream Mirror monsters to swap to another form of themselves. For example, Phantasos, the Dream Mirror Foe can Tribute itself to Special Summon Phantasos, the Dream Mirror Friend while Joy is on the field. Unlike most Dream Mirror decks, we are primarily using them as a bridge to bigger and better things, as the simple summon of Neiroy, the Dream Mirror Traitor can lead into a Level 1, Level 3, Level 4, or Level 8 monster for an Xyz summon. Why is this important? Well, combine any of those with Astral Kuriboh to make an Xyz monster of that Rank. Or… you can just skip the whole, matching levels mechanic by doing a fun Number of things.
Let’s start with the key card for doing math, Numbers Eveil. This Spell card lets you grab 4 Xyz Monsters from your Extra Deck, sum the Numbers in their name(s), then summon a monster with a Number in their name equal to that sum. For example, Number F0: Utopic Future + Number 2: Ninja Shadow Mosquito + Number 3: Cicada King + Number 4: Stealth Kragen = Number 9: Dyson Sphere. Or, Number 6: Chromonaly Atlandis + Number 9: Dyson Sphere + Number 12: Crimson Shadow Armor Ninja + Number 35: Ravenous Tarantula = Number 62: Galaxy Eyes Prime Photon Dragon. Or, Number 3: Cicada King + Number 9: Dyson Sphere + Number C9: Chaos Dyson Sphere + Number 12: Crimson Shadow Armor Ninja = Number 33: Chronomaly Machu Mech. These are just a few combinations to explain the card, but they allow for you to really cheat out strong Xyz monsters. Plus, if your cheated out Xyz monster happens to fall to the GY, this perfectly sets you up for the activation of Seventh Force (YGOrg Translation), a Quick-Play Spell that allows you to Special Summon a Number C from your Extra Deck using a Number monster in your GY. If you want to cheat out Xyz monsters the other way, look to Rank-Up-Magic – The Seventh One or Barian’s Chaos Draw, each of which is made consistently activatable by the Spell Card Seventh Ascension. The Dream Mirrors may take a back seat to the action of the Seventh Numbers at play here, but it certainly makes for an exciting casual build!
