Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for another Creative Deck Profile, and this time I’ve decided to embark on my first Ashened/Snake-Eye hybrid build to celebrate the new TCG World Premiere cards in MP25. That’s right – Queen of the Blazing Domain isn’t the only TCG WP to synergize with the Ashened, but I’m sure going to start there. Queen gets to Special Summon itself by destroying up to 2 cards you control, including a face-up S/T, so naturally it is meant to trigger your Obsidim, the Ashened City. If you destroyed 2, it also forces monsters sent from the field to the opponent’s GY to be banished instead, giving great synergy with Veidos the Eruption Dragon of Extinction’s mass destruction effect! Of course, you don’t need to overload too many copies of the Queen – it is highly accessible via Awakening of Veidos, Chaotic Elements, Extinguishing the Ashened, and even Infernal Flame Banshee. The card I did want to include multiple copies of was Bot Herder, since it can target a Veidos you’ve summoned to the opponent’s board to steal all the rest of their monsters! It even synergizes with Inferno of the Ashened as well, if you aren’t able to get Veidos to stick on their board.
Alright, enough about the Ashened monsters, let’s talk about the other themes making an appearance. First up is the Snake-Eye archetype, a group of Pyro monsters that make a ton of advantage off of minimal cards. With Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon and Snake-Eyes Doomed Dragon leading the way, you also have non-destruction removal in case you run into something Veidos can’t destroy. Lastly, any extra Snake-Eye monsters you draw can be converted into Fusion Material for Embers of the Ashened, recovering a Field Spell in the process. The last theme at play today is the Yubel engine, accessed off of Nightmare Throne. This compact engine both gives you access to Phantom of Yubel while also giving you free cards to destroy or send to the GY with either Queen or Snake-Eye Ash. Plus, with Super Polymerization waiting to drop the hammer on the opponent, they may just kneel to the might of Yubel – The Loving Defender Forever!
