They came from another world… a world of spirits!
Replays:
Strategic Summary:
Despite waiting for a new wave of support for far too long, the Reptile Type has a ton of unique effects and abilities at its disposal. One Reptile archetype, near to my heart as the first deck I created IRL, is Aliens. This archetype may be outclassed in today’s age, but I wanted to present a different take on the archetype today in the hopes that it could inspire future deckbuilding. Cosmic Fortress Gol’Gar, the Level 5 Synchro, offers the unique ability to return face-up Spells/Traps on the field to the hand, allowing for the re-use of certain ‘Once Per Turn’ effects. Along these lines, today’s video features a strategy designed to make the most of Gol’Gar and streamline access to it, without compromising on power cards of the modern game, such as Crystron Halqifibrax. The Tenyi half of the deck facilitates that, offering free Synchro, Xyz, or Link fodder to get to the Alien materials you require. The build centers around 2 Field Spells not typically found in Alien decks – Black Garden and Mausoleum of White. The first gives the opponent’s tokens, which when combined with Alien Kid, gives you a source of extra A-Counters. But it also serves as a recovery tool, since a number of Aliens (and one Tenyi), have the correct ATK values to be recovered from the GY. The second Field Spell grants an extra Normal Summon for Alien Ammonite, as well as filling the GY with Alien Shocktrooper in advance of your Ammonite Summon(s). At the end of the day, I’m aware that this may not be the best Alien build out there, but I hope that it can inspire better builds in the future, at least until we get a new wave of much needed legacy support for our reptilian friends.
