The McDonalds Yu-Gi-Oh! and Hello Kitty Happy Meal toys have finally come to McDonalds’ country of origin…minus one specific character.
As a reminder, McDonalds Happy Meals across the United States of America are including soft toys based on Yu-Gi-Oh! and Hello Kitty. The following toys can come in Happy Meals:
- My Melody as Dark Magician Girl
- Tuxedosam as Obelisk the Tormentor
- Kuromi as Slifer the Sky Dragon
- Chococat as The Winged Dragon of Ra
- Hello Kitty as Dark Magician
- Cinnamoroll as Blue-Eyes White Dragon
- Keroppi as Kuriboh
- Pompompurin as Exodia the Forbidden One
- Pochacco as Time Wizard
For unknown reasons, Badtz-maru as Red-Eyes Black Dragon is not included in the American release.
The official Happy Meal hub includes an animated commercial detailing how the worlds of Hello Kitty and Yu-Gi-Oh! came to be mashed together, a digital app allowing kids to recreate this with the characters, and two printable activity sheets.

Too bad they don’t include cards like the og toys. I remember back then the only way to get Elemental Hero Electrum and Mudballman in America was from opening McDonald packs.
Yea those were fun
Will kids getting happy meals even have any idea who these characters are?
Too bad Americans are missing out on the Red-Eyes one
… Why the black one…?
Warning about these! It seems like each store only gets a box with one char. My boss got three Happy Meals for this toy, got three Blue-Eyes, and the McDonalds employee confirmed they only had Blue-Eyes.
I found that out after ordering my wife and I five meals since she likes Sanrio, and I like YGO. Got Five DMGs.
They should do Happy Meals for teens and adults with alt art non-nostalgia cards.
Like give us Tour Guide or Albaz and Ecclesia eating a borger.
I have no idea who is supposed to be the target audience for these cheapo plushies.
So what, people think Badt-Maru is some kind of “golliwog” racist design?
No cards? Smh
