Summary:
Putting their pride on the line, Reiji and Roger begin a Duel! Facing up against the overwhelming strength of Reiji who skillfully controls his D/D monsters, Roger is driven into a corner. However, something unexpected happens to Roger’s appearance. Meanwhile, Yuya and Jack, who have arrived at Security’s headquarters, rush to Reiji’s location together with the other members of the Lancers. Note: Episode 99’s title seems to be a reference to this (Incidentally, the game opened with a “King’s Gambit” move, and is also known as one of the most “beautiful” chess games ever). Given the totally-subtle-and-not-obvious chess motifs that Roger has, I’ve decided to translate “永遠” as “Immortal” rather than “Eternal,” but either one of them is perfectly valid.
“Whoops, never mind. Since Roger said “This Duel will never end!” in the preview, “Eternal Duel” suddenly becomes a more appropriate translation than “Immortal Duel.””
