Why Ban baronne!?! It was an essential part to board-building.
That ain’t fair whatsoever, also linkuriboh isn’t even that good.
But the other decisions are fine.
Except Malicious going to 3, cuz Hero is already broken as it is.

SG, bro… what paint are you huffing? Generic, high stat omni-negates are too easy to put out in today’s meta. Maybe the board-building will have to adapt to in-theme strategies or random techs, and I’m all for it.
As for linkuriboh… do you not know of Snake-eyes/Fire kings???
Generic negate boss monsters are just too bad for the game designs in a long run. There’re decks that’s arguably fair with them, but most of the time they will just be abused by whatever high power level decks that can spam bodies on board. Even a deck that focus on spamming lvl 1s can summon it out.

Yeh, snake eyes fire king uses it, but linkuriboh isn’t too powerful to deserve the ban, I mean relinquished anima does kind the same thing but without the bonus effects.
Without barronne less power in synchro decks. Sometimes a barronne is needed to make a strong board. I k negates are annoying to deal with, but come on, if we were to ban negates, why haven’t we banned imperm yet, or other negate cards that are much more easily accessible and usable.

the problem is they dont use their brains to do anything regarding the banlist. For example instead of banning the new Agido, Kelbek, and limiting Keldo to 1 they could have gone wait they are only strong if you have “Exchange of Spirit” in your graveyard and banned that but no they are to stupid to use their brains. the same is true for WoTC the company that made MTG. There are cards on their banlist for the commander format that have much more overpowered versions that are not banned, example being Prophet of Kruphix which does the following “You may cast creature spells as though they had flash” and “During each players untap step, untap all your non land permanents”. Comparison being Seedborn Muse which does the following “During each players untap step, untap all your permanents”. Both cost 5 mana one being 2 green and 3 other the other being 1 blue 1 green and 3 other. I would rather deal with Prophet of Kruphix untap only nonland cards and giving only creature spells flash as opposed to untapping everything you control and playing a whole new turn basically during each players turns respectively.

Linkuriboh getting banned is gonna hurt my mediocre dino deck though. And I haven’t even got to take it to a tournament yet.

I’m slightly surprised Summon Limit is gone since it’s one of the true ways to just shutdown Snake-eyes (even though every other deck would be collateral from it’s use, too) but another floodgate hit is good in my books.
Summon Limit is snake eyes’ best tool post side; you can just send it to the grave after stunlocking your opponent.

linkuriboh lets snake eyes dodge imperm/veiler which is what makes the deck so strong.

The issue wasn’t her good effects. It got banned because it was “abused”, since it was TOO EASY to Synchro Summon. I SERIOUSLY hope they gonna do a new errata, so she can come back.

Damn, this list went after generic negators and floodgates. And then it brought back colossus…(sigh), it’s probably fine, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.
I know people hate on the semi-limit section, but Delicious Memory is a card that I think perfectly fits there.
Remind me again, why is Armageddon Knight coming off the banlist and Protos getting unbanned? And why is Linkuriboh of all things getting banned?
To hit Snake – Eyes indirectly, also Baronne to an extent was probably motivated by some Snake-Eyes lines
Linkuriboh is actually quite a big hit, it’s a Link 1 that allows Poplar activates its GY effect, but more importantly it dodges any target effects onto any of your Level 1 Snake-Eye for basically every turn, and also an Apollousa protector. Bro is mighty powerful.
Armageddon Knight is 3 in Master Duel and OCG and is not played anywhere outside Orcust, and is played basically as an extra copy of Girsu. Basically powercrept enough to crawl out of the banlist, and generally non-archetypical card have less utility than archetypical ones as well.
Protos is probably to compensate Swordsoul for their Baronne ban, and looks like TCG is trying to promote archetypical boss monsters rather than generic ones.

I wish they would just hit Snake-Eyes instead of Linkuriboh. Barrone did nothing wrong, Apo is the problem; Apo is easier to make and has more negates (That said Savage Dragon is basically a harder to make Apo so that’s a fine hit, just doesn’t make sense that Apo wasn’t hit before Savage).
Apo is only a big problem if it has an omni-negate behind it.

In today’s game speed, a lot of decks don’t have the leeway to summon Baronne/Savage going second, that’s why they’re mostly going first cards. Keeping generic omni-negates like them just further increases the advantage of going first.

While I agree with the generic Omni Negates getting banned, I don’t agree with Linkiriboh getting banned and Snake-Eyes seeing no hits whatsoever. Game will still be in a tier 0 Format for another 3-4 months. Modern Yu-Gi-Oh is unplayable. Going to just indefinitely continue my Konami Boycott at this point.

Now can we have a synchro that actually requires Fleur Synchron? Promethean Princess may not be negate slop on paper but for all intents and purposes it might as well be one just while in the gy. Not too surprising nowadays when there’s no difference between the hand, field, and gy. Most monster negate shouldn’t even be allowed to be used during damage calc but here we are. Summon limit did nothing wrong you know though applying it a non-symmetrical manner like after you yourself have summoned 500 times is rude sure but Apollousa deserves the bullet first.
Summon Limit was the modern era version of Vanity’s Emptiness/Royal Oppression. Literally the most toxic card of the format next to Linkuriboh. It needed to go asap.
The hits on this banlist is clearly an attempt to make battle phase effects/cards relevant again (Tenpai incoming) and force decks to actually have a win condition/real end board instead of just generic boss monsters.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the next banlist sometime after Rarity Collection 2 hits more generic end board pieces/OTK enablers (Appolusa and Access Code just to name a few).
This list could’ve done more, but tbh this is a good start. All the hits were good and warranted. Time will tell if Protos, Colossus and 3 Mali will matter in the long run.
