Personally I wish they would remake the original Yugioh/Yugioh GX. Y’know same characters (maybe add some new characters in, or swap genders around, whatever) but different plot arcs, either different decks or updated decks, and just update it with all of the newer stuff.
I’ve had it in my head for a while about a Female Jaden, who is less Elemental HEROES and more whatever archetype she gets paired with that also has a Yubel engine in it (in my head, this Yubel doesn’t get sent into space, and so it focused on “Yubel – The Loving Defender Forever” rather than “Yubel – Terror Incarnate”/”Yubel – Ultimate Nightmare”)
you know can just write whatever fanfic you want.
What is it with you people and female portagonists? Seriously?
flubberboy, female protagonists are so uncommon that we need more representation.
did I read swap genders ?
nyah dude
we dont do that sh*t here
the anime is amazing the way it is
a continuation is welcome but adding these stuff for no reason, hell no
i just finished reading your whole comment
I shouldnt have done it honestly
thank the lord no one from Konami is here …
remember how star wars turned out? want a female protagonist go watch that
“I want a remake but I also want to change all the characters and the plot to the point that it’s unrecognizable.” Make it make sense.
lmao one of them anti woke loser here
Lmao blackbelt is right. Pretty sure there’s enough fanfic for all that you want. Stop asking for pointless remakes that’ll ruin things. The goober that said, “wee need moar female representation”, dawg there’s already enough of that. Dafuq are you even watching??
Not every protagonist has to be a battle-hungry Goku type like Jaden, Yuma, and Yuya, or a brooding edgelord. It’d be way more interesting to have a main character who’s eccentric and unorthodox—like a smooth, Mad Hatter type who wins duels with strategy and unpredictability.
And let’s be real—having a female protagonist doesn’t make a show ‘woke.’ It only crosses that line if it starts focusing more on tokenism and pushing an agenda than on actually telling a good story. Just because we play a children’s card game doesn’t mean we need to act like children about it.
That yukicrew guy reeks of falseflaggeling
@yukicrewger2 Kathleen Kennedy, is that you?
whatever you typed up just sounds awful
What would be nice is a manga-accurate remake of the original, starting in volume 1 (instead of 8 like DM did).
That’s a terrible idea.. just create something new at that point.
This comment thread is a perfect example of why I will never believe the cardboard jerkers on this website when they pretend to care about women’s representation. When it’s about BOOBA and little girls, they become avid supporters of “women’s representation” (curiously). But when it’s about having a woman protagonist, they become rabid gamergaters.
Cardboard jerkers are just sad little pathetic cardboard jerkers and that’s all there is to them. All the porn in the world and still you have to get it from a children’s card game. Thankfully most of you won’t get the chance to procreate.
I can tell barely any of you mfs actually red or watched yugioh this whole thread sounds goofy on both ends.
Nah, they just want to see traptrix sera onscreen, would be a success
Yukicrewger2. You must have never been a fan of any real measure. Like you idea a first was more a spit in the face than a idea. 2 saying a card engine is dumber than anything as well and completely miss the point Konami has made through the years. Engines are a gimmick at best or junk. It might give a win but has no soul. A deck/archetype is meant to tell the story of a card as you win. Kaiba has a deck talking about the blue eyes and the monsters it fought. Yugi has the kid deck of gadgets, magnets and silence. Yami plays the story of gaia/ dark magician or also known as mahad. So next time watch the show or read the cards before making a comment.
ok so we are def getting a ygo9 sometime soon, maybe it will be announced at the end of this month when go rush ends?
The fact they have a live concert with DM cast members attending strikes me as interesting but could be over reading into that.
Duel Links anime would be neat.
Thought the 25th Anniversary was over by now but guess not lol. We’ve been celebrating this since what? Last year or so? Not that I hate it.
That was the 25th anniversary of the Official Card Game.
Next year is the franchise 30th Anniversary.
The Yu-Gi-Oh anime turns 25 on April 28th.
The 18th actually. My Bad.
I’m coping that they have a message at the end of Go Rush, a bit like how Vrains did it. And then we get a YGO 9 announcement later this year. The logo makes me hopeful they have more projects planned for it to be used anyways – especially with the amount of effort they put into the 25th anniversary of the OCG.
My prediction, there gonna announced a new Yugioh anime project on April 18, in celebration of the 25th anniversary for the Yugioh anime.
hopefully it’s not a new rush, I want anime for the master cards game
Unfortunately the Rush franchise has been incredibly popular in Japan so the chances of us getting a Yugioh master anime anytime soon is very unlikely.
Unless they finally figured out how to do it, fhe master rule is too difficult to be made into a card game anime now.
The anime needs to promote decks that are good enough to be played, but for them to be good enough to be played in today era, they have to involve engine and combo slop that feels like it takes a whole day to finish and boring to look at. That’s why OCG Structures manga often skip the board building. Not to mention all the handtraps usage that stops your opponent from playing, which is actually not a good way to promote your game.
No, I’m pretty happy with Rush duels.. I think they’re superior. I just wish the anime would take a more professional more mature turn like the original series and be less about young kids..
@queen_starmie_ You can just say you haven’t actually watched the Rush anime you know. Better than spreading lies
>”The “Yu-Gi-Oh!” animated series is celebrating its 25th Anniversary!”
>”The animated series began in 2000″
Absolutely disgusting to leave out and bury the original 1998 anime literally titled “Yu-Gi-Oh!” that (loosely) adapts the 1st 59 chapters of the “Yu-Gi-Oh!” while the sequel/2nd series titled “Duel Monsters” continues from chapter 60. Sequels/2nd series/spinoffs get subtitles. It is the 27th anniversary of Yu-Gi-Oh! animation. Yu-Gi-Oh! has been animated every year since 1998. Takahashi chose Megumi Ogata to voice Yami Yugi/Yugi as stated in the bunkoban foreword. To deny its existence is denying Takahashi, Ogata, cast, staff, music artists, all the people who were alive in 1998 watching the 1st episode, etc. All the hard work and contributions they made.
The 1998 anime was made by different studio and nobody involved currently in this franchise has right to it and while it conveniently covers all of pre-DM manga, the Konami/Gallop anime had major rewrites making it clear that it was not continuation of it.
@Namesky You’ve said nothing of worth to “continue” the conversation/point of my post and just repeated what I said while telling me what I already know.
They’re just gonna stick to having anniversary logos on all products from now on for nostalgia purposes aren’t they?
There’s a reason YGOrg staff half jokingly go “Eien no Anniversary” (Eternal Anniversary).
This has been going on for *years*.
Welcome to Yu-Gi-Oh!
The next year will be the 30th anniversary of the manga.
Then 2 years after that will be the 30th anniversary of the card game.
And 2 years after that will be the 30th anniversary of the anime, again.
And so on, so on,…
“Let’s celebrate the 25th anniversary of the anime by NOT airing any Yu-Gi-Oh! anime”
They did not air a genuine ongoing YGO anime since 2019, so it’s whatever at this point.
Hope they don’t remaster all the filler in season 1 and 2 and replace it with actual character development.
Am I the only one here whom is concerned about what Konami is gonna do to Air Neos in the GX remaster?
