Harpie&#8217;s Pet Dragon &#8211; Fearsome Fire Blast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Who let the Hysteric Pet Dragon out?<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h4>Replays:<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5tG0y55u7bk\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h4>Strategic Summary:<\/h4>\n<p>Today&#8217;s profile features the <strong>Harpie Lady<\/strong> archetype, a group of WIND Winged Beasts that own their power and whip the opponent&#8217;s backrow into submission. This archetype is defined by their field spell, <strong>Harpies&#8217; Hunting Ground<\/strong>, which destroys a Spell\/Trap on the field every time a <strong>Harpie Lady<\/strong> is Summoned. Naturally, this also means that some of their support cards also want to be destroyed. <strong>Alluring Mirror Split<\/strong> summons a <strong>Harpie Lady<\/strong> from the GY when destroyed, and<strong> Harpie Lady Elegance<\/strong> recovers one from the GY back to the hand, but the true destruction target is <strong>Hysteric Sign<\/strong>, which tutors 3 Harpie cards with different names from your Deck during the End Phase. This enables access to the theme&#8217;s most powerful card &#8211; <strong>Harpie&#8217;s Feather Storm<\/strong>, which shuts off ALL of your opponent&#8217;s activated monster effects for the turn.<\/p>\n<p>But enough about their Spell\/Trap support &#8211; All of the Harpie monsters are known for one talent &#8211; being named &#8216;<strong>Harpie Lady<\/strong>&#8216;. <strong>Harpie Perfumer<\/strong> is treated as <strong>Harpie Lady<\/strong> on the field and GY, but whenever it is summoned you can tutor a Spell\/Trap that lists <strong>Harpie Lady<\/strong>&#8230; unless you have a Level 5 or higher Harpie, because then you tutor two! For more tutoring, <strong>Harpie Channeler<\/strong> can discard a Harpie card to summon another Harpie directly from your deck. Today I also wanted to spotlight the theme&#8217;s new toy, <strong>Harpie&#8217;s Pet Dragon &#8211; Fearsome Fire Blast<\/strong>, which can summon itself from the hand whenever you control a Level 6 or lower WIND monster, then it can send a Winged Beast from the deck to the GY whenever it is sent there &#8211; perfectly combining with <strong>Harpie Harpist<\/strong>&#8216;s GY effect! As you probably can tell, there is a lot of interplay between all of these Harpie cards, so you might just have to trust in your WIND connection to soar to new heights.
