“Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Tokyo” was held on November 3rd. And the event report has been released!
\nSince a V Jump Writer participated in the event at Osaka back in May, we’ll do that again, introducing the situation and results!<\/p>\n
The “Primal Dragon” Deck Used By The V Jump Writer!<\/strong><\/p>\n 3 Chaos Form 3 Crackdown 1 Borreload Savage Dragon This Deck’s concept is a Deck based around making use of the effect of “Primal Dragon” (from the jumbo December V Jump Issue) that lets your monster attacks twice”.<\/p>\n It has two core strategies: Basically: Go second, and crush your opponent immediately.<\/p>\n Strategy 1: If “Gren Maju Da Eiza” Is In Your Hand<\/strong><\/p>\n A pattern based on Tributing “Primal Dragon” with the effect of “Gizmek Yata, the Gleaming Vanguard” and apply its effect to a monster on the field.<\/p>\n 1. During the End Phase of your opponent’s turn, banish the top 8 cards of your Deck to Special Summon “Gizmek Orochi, the Serpentron Sky Slasher”. Your ATK Total will be “4900 (2450 x 2) + 4400 + 2050 = 11,400”, meaning you’ll likely be able to deal enormous damage to your opponent.<\/p>\n Strategy 2: If You Can Ritual Summon “Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon”<\/strong><\/p>\n The second pattern which focuses on Tributing “Primal Dragon” and applying its effect to monsters on the field. This is very powerful if the right conditions are met. The total ATK you’ll have is “8000 (4000 x 2) + 1850 = 9850” The Above Mentioned Monsters<\/strong><\/p>\n “Primal Dragon the Primordial Dragon”<\/p>\n Your opponent takes no battle damage from attacks involving this card. You can only use each of the following effects of “Primal Dragon the Primordial Dragon” once per turn. From “Gren Maju Da Eiza”<\/strong><\/p>\n This card’s ATK and DEF are each equal to the number of your removed from play cards x 400.<\/p>\n From “Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon”<\/strong><\/p>\n You can Ritual Summon this card with “Chaos Form”. \nThey used their Field Spell to get “Candina” and “Lycoris”, and then polished off their turn by Setting 4 cards.
\nThen I had a troublesome opening hand: “Effect Veiler”, 2 “Trade-In”, “Harpie’s Feather Duster” and “Crackdown”, while my first draw was “Ash Blossom * Joyous Spring”
\nFirst I activate “Harpie’s Feather Duster”, destroying all of my opponent’s Spell & Trap Cards. Then, my opponent activated “Scapegoat”, so I suspected they would bring out “Borrelsword Dragon”, so I set “Crackdown” and the unusable “Trade-In” and ended my turn.
\nThe opponent used the Special Summoned Sheep Tokens to Link Summon, using “Knightmare Phoenix” to destroy “Trade-In”. Then they Link Summoned “Borrelsword Dragon”, which I took control with using “Crackdown”, allowing me to take the advantage.
\nHowever, I kinda got stuck for a while, such as drawing into my third “Trade-In”, but ultimately I drew into “Gren Maju Da Eiza” and “Eater f Millions”, allowing me to win with a 6000 ATK Da Eiza.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\nOpponent’s Deck: “Salamangreat”<\/p>\n
\nTheir End Phase resulted in “Salamangreat Balelynx” and 1 Set Card, and during that End Phase I Special Summoned “Gizmek Orochi, the Sky Serpentron Slasher”.
\nDuring my turn, the “Gizmek Orochi, the Sky Serpentron Slasher” used its effect to banish my Extra Deck to destroy “Salamangreat Balelynx”, then I Normal Summoned “Gren Maju Da Eiza”, and attacked with two monsters.
\nDuring the next turn, the opponent Special Summoned “Dinowrestler Panktratops”, destroying that “Da Eiza”. They again brought out “Salamangreats” to Link Summon “Hiita the Fire Charmer, Ablaze”, and from there they Special Summon “Da Eiza” from the GY to a point Hiita pointed to.
\nI believe the Da Eiza was used as material for Link Summoning or so such, but then because my opponent attacked “Gizmek Orochi” with “Da Eiza”, I won the battle and with it and the Duel.
\n“Da Eiza” explicitly states “Gains ATK equal to the number of your banished cards”, so it had 0 ATK.
\nMy opponent misread the effect, and this was the result.<\/p>\n<\/a>
\n3rd Match: Win
\nOpponent’s Deck: “Danger!” + “Dark World”<\/p>\n
\nMy opponent activate “Danger! Mothman!”, sending “Beiige, Vanguard of Dark World”. It’s Special Summoned, and “Mothman!” was Special Summoned as well.
\nThey used these two to Xyz Summon “Number 60: Dugares the Timeless” and activate its effect, but I discarded “Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring” from the hand to negate it. Afterwards, they Normal Summoned “Fairy Tail – Snow” from their hand, and used Dugares and Snow to Link Summon “I:P Masquerena”. Moving the End Phase, I Special Summoned the “Gizmek Orochi, the Sky Serpentron Slasher”.
\nMoving to my turn, I Special Summoned “Gizmek Mikazuchi, the Nuclear Emperor”, then equipped my opponent’s “Masquerena” to it, then my opponent banished cards for the cost of Special Summoning”Fairy Tail – Snow” from the GY. And with its effect, flipped “Gizmek Mikazuchi” to face-down Defense Position.
\nHowever, because the opponent has banished their entire hand, I was more or less able to win as a result.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\nOpponent Deck: “Subterror”<\/p>\n
\nThey set 1 monster and 2 Spell\/Trap Cards, and ending the turn.
\nDuring my turn, I activated “Pot of Extravagance” from my hand at the start of the Main Phase. I banished 6 cards from my Extra Deck as a part of the cost, but it was stopped by “Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring”.
\nAlthough my “Gren Maju Da Eiza” from the hand gained 2400 ATK, I was weary of what that Set monster might be, so I Tributed that monster for “Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju”, and destroyed it with “Da Eiza”. The Tributed monster was “Subterror Guru” making me certain my opponent was most likely playing “Subterror”.
\nMy opponent then took their turn, Set a monster and passed it back to me.
\nNonetheless, I failed to draw a monster, so I attacked with Da Eiza, so the Set “Subterror Guru” flipped face-up, and then my opponent activated their Set “Subterror Final Battle”, using it to combine ATK and DEF values, and thus the battle ended without anything being destroyed.
\nDuring the next turn, my opponent had “Subterror Guru” and “Final Battle” combo to raise ATK, allowing them to destroy my “Gren Maju Da Eiza”.
\nAfterwards, I drew into “Gizmek Orochi, the Sky Serpentron Slasher” and “Fairy Tail – Luna”, and used their effects against my opponent’s “Subterror Guru”, allowing me to seize victory.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\nOpponent’s Deck: “Anti-Spam Deck”<\/p>\n
\nDue to the Special Summons being sealed, and the fact I had no monsters to Normal Summoned, I had to end my turn.
\nMy opponent Normal Summoned “Thunder King Rai-Oh”, thus making it impossible for me to add cards from my Deck to my hand.
\nUnable to get or bring out any cards, I lost.<\/p>\n
