For the very first match of the Asia Championship 2018, we have Kwong Ka Ho from Hong Kong on the left, playing against Huang Qilin from Singapore on the right.<\/p>\n

Ka Ho is running Gouki while Qilin is running Trickstar.<\/p>\n

Duel 1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Qilin went first and opened with\u00a0Trickstar Candina<\/strong>\u00a0into\u00a0Trickstar Light Stage<\/strong>\u00a0and then\u00a0Trickstar Lycoris<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Lycoris was then immediately Special Summoned, 3 cards were set to the backrow and that was the turn.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Ka Ho drew and took 400 damage from Lycoris and Light Stage.<\/p>\n

Ka Ho played\u00a0Sky Striker Mecha \u2013 Hornet Drones<\/strong>\u00a0to Special Summon a \u201cSky Striker Ace Token\u201d and then Normal Summoned\u00a0Gouki Suplex<\/strong>\u00a0to use them to Link Summon\u00a0Knightmare Phoenix<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Phoenix\u2019s Special Summon was negated by\u00a0Solemn Strike<\/strong>, and Suplex added\u00a0Gouki Twincobra<\/strong>\u00a0to hand. Ka Ho followed with\u00a0One for One<\/strong>, discarding\u00a0Destiny HERO \u2013 Malicious<\/strong>\u00a0for the cost.<\/p>\n

One for One<\/strong>\u00a0met the same fate and was negated by\u00a0Solemn Warning<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Malicious was banished to Special Summon another copy of itself, and\u00a0Emergency Teleport<\/strong>\u00a0Special Summoned\u00a0Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit<\/strong>. Together they became\u00a0Crystron Needlefiber<\/strong>\u00a0but Qilin flipped over his third trap card and it was\u00a0Infinite Impermanence<\/strong>\u00a0to negate Needlefiber.<\/p>\n

That left Ka Ho with no more follow-up plays as he ended his turn.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Qilin played\u00a0Terraforming<\/strong>\u00a0to fetch Light Stage and played it replacing the previous Light Stage. It fetched\u00a0Trickstar Calobane<\/strong>, and Candina was Normal Summoned to fetch Lycoris.<\/p>\n

During the Battle Phase, Calobane attacked over Needlefiber while Candina and Lycoris went in for direct attacks. Two more Lycoris were Special Summoned by returning Candina and they attacked for the game.<\/p>\n

Ka Ho went first and right at the start of the Main Phase 1, he played\u00a0Magical Mid-Breaker Field<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ka Ho went off with Special Summoning\u00a0Dark Grepher<\/strong>\u00a0by discarding\u00a0Destiny HERO \u2013 Malicious<\/strong>. Malicious graveyard effect was activated, banishing itself, and Qilin threw out a\u00a0Maxx \u201cC\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Ka Ho pushed through with his Link Summoning spam. In the midst of\u00a0Firewall Dragon<\/strong>\u00a0tried to salvage\u00a0Armageddon Knight<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Knightmare Corruptor Iblee<\/strong>\u00a0but it was negated by\u00a0Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Ka Ho eventually ended with an Extra Link board, with Iblee on opponent\u2019s field and 2 set cards in the backrow.<\/p>\n

He is down to 3000 life points after having played\u00a0Soul Charge<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Destrudo the Lost Dragon\u2019s Frisson<\/strong>\u00a0earlier in the turn.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

On Qilin\u2019s turn, he switched Iblee to Attack Position and tried to attack into\u00a0Knightmare Mermaid<\/strong>\u00a0but the attack was negated by\u00a0Necro Gardna<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In Main Phase 2, Qilin played Light Stage to lock an opponent\u2019s set Spell\/Trap card, summon Candina and set 5 cards to his backrow.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

During Ka Ho\u2019s Draw Phase, Qilin flipped over\u00a0Gozen Match<\/strong>! Ka Ho tried to negate with\u00a0Red Reboot<\/strong>\u00a0but Qilin had the final negate with\u00a0Solemn Judgment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Gozen Match resolved with Qilin kept Candina (LIGHT), while Ka Ho kept\u00a0Knightmare Cerberus<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Tri-Gate Wizard<\/strong>\u00a0(EARTH).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Qilin then activated 3 Lycoris from hand all in the same Chain targeting Candina, Special Summoning 3 Lycoris and returning Candina to hand. While 3 Lycoris are on the field, Qilin followed up with\u00a0Trickstar Reincarnation<\/strong>. Ka Ho banished and drew 3 cards, taking a total of 1800 damage from the 3 Lycoris and Light Stage.<\/p>\n

Ka Ho Normal Summoned Glow-Up Bulb but could not make any Link Summons due to\u00a0Gozen Match<\/strong>\u00a0locking him to EARTH.<\/p>\n

Tri-Gate Wizard attacked into one of the Lycoris but Qilin dropped\u00a0Trickstar Calobane<\/strong>\u00a0during the Damage Step and that was exact damage for the game.<\/p>\n

Kwong Ka Ho (Hong Kong) 0 \u2013 2 Huang Qilin (Singapore)<\/p>\n

Qilin has won his first match beautifully with a\u00a0Gozen Match<\/strong>\u00a0to break his opponent\u2019s Extra Link board.<\/p>\n
