Oh, wow, it\u2019s Pumpking the King of Ghosts! In the\u2026flesh? What are you doing here? This is kind of like the place you battled Red-Eyes Black Dragon, all those years ago. You\u2019re the original Halloween Horrorshow!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/section>\n

(Pumpking glares with his giant-sized eye. Clearly not a happy pumpkin.)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Yeah that was a long time ago, and you haven\u2019t had a power upgrade since. Now you\u2019re probably thinking, \u201cI\u2019m mad, and I\u2019m not gonna take it anymore!\u201d Hey, wait a second! This new Maze of Muertos<\/em> set might have something for you. Let\u2019s look around and see what we can find.<\/p>\n

(Pumpking tilts his big pumpkin head forward. Was that a nod? It must have been.)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a Field Spell Card right here. It looks like that cave with all the skulls, in Duelist Kingdom. This Field Spell lets you Set any of your Call of the Haunteds from your Deck or Graveyard. So you can get all 3 at once!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

AND it powers them up, too, so Call of the Haunted sends an opponent\u2019s monster to the Graveyard, on top of Summoning a monster from yours! How\u2019s that sound?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

(Pumpking\u2019s head tilts to the side. We seem to have his interest, but he clearly wants more.)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

What\u2019s this, here? Ectoplasmic Fortification? You used this in that cave Duel, too! It powers up your Zombie monsters\u2019 Attack Points!<\/p>\n

(Pumpking taps a vine on the ground, impatiently.)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Okay, I\u2019ll keep reading. Hmm\u2026AND it draws a card for every Call of the Haunted you control. That\u2019s new!<\/p>\n

(Pumpking points at\u2026a brick?)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

What if we draw it the first turn? Don\u2019t worry, it says you can also use this same card to get the Field Spell out of your Deck.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

(Now Pumpking\u2019s pointing at himself.)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Hey, you\u2019re right! You can get the Field Spell, OR a Level 6 Zombie, like yourself. And it bumps up Zombies\u2019 Attack Points, and draws a card for every Call of the Haunted you control. That seems like a lot. It\u2019s good to be the King!<\/p>\n

(Pumpking proudly adjusts his crown.)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s keep looking. Here\u2019s another Monster Card. It\u2019s\u2026you! It\u2019s a Pumpking upgrade, a new Level 6 monster. You can reveal it and discard a card, to Set Call of the Haunted from your Deck, and then you can activate that Call of the Haunted that same turn. And when the new you is Special Summoned, it Summons another Level 6 Zombie from the Deck. Okay, I see where this is going. You reveal and discard new Pumpking to Set Call of the Haunted, then activate Call of the Haunted right away to Special Summon Pumpking back, and then Pumpking Special Summons another Level 6 Zombie from the Deck. Boom! Two Level 6\u2019s on the field. A great first-turn card you could even Xyz Summon right away.<\/p>\n

(Pumpking ponders, then starts flailing its vines around itself. Like they were\u2026orbiting?)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

You want me to look for an Xyz Monster? Good idea. Let\u2019s see\u2026oh here\u2019s one! It kind of looks like you, but bigger and with more eyes.<\/p>\n

(Pumpking seems ESPECIALLY pleased at that.)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This Xyz Monster protects all Zombies from being targeted with effects. And when it\u2019s Xyz Summoned, it adds Call of the Haunted \u2013 or anything that mentions it \u2013 from your Deck to your hand. Like Man with the Mark from Maze of the Master<\/em>!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

(Pumpking tilts his head down again. As if saying to keep reading.)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2026AND you can detach 1 material to return 2 cards anywhere on the field back to the hand.<\/p>\n

(Seemingly satisfied, Pumpking turns away and starts doing something in the dirt. He\u2019s certainly less threatening but\u2026wait\u2026is he drawing something?)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Hey, those are Joey\u2019s monsters! But now they\u2019re Zombies. What are they doing on Team Pumpking?<\/p>\n

Did you see this Legion-of-the-Not-So-Living around here? Oh, here it is! A Rank 7 Xyz Monster that you can Rank-Up into. It can attach an opponent\u2019s monster to itself from their field or Graveyard, as material.<\/p>\n

Well, everyone, you heard the pumpkin! Er\u2026PumpKING. Maze of Muertos<\/em> is the latest anime-inspired booster for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME. Featuring dozens of new cards, including many based on cards from the anime and manga. From Darkuriboh<\/strong>, Dark Magician of Destruction<\/strong>, and Timaeus the United Magical Dragon<\/strong>, to Illusion Gate<\/strong>, Chronicle Sorceress<\/strong>, and Uzuhime the Manifested Mikanko<\/strong>, you\u2019ll find something of interest in the wide range of new cards found in this set.<\/p>\n

Maze of Muertos<\/em> also revives some old favorites and popular recent cards as an extra treat! And we might have more treats to announce in the days ahead, so stay tuned.<\/p>\n
