Since <\/span>Supreme Darkness<\/span><\/i> was officially released this past Friday, let’s take a look at the top cards of the set and other oddities in the current market.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Mulcharmy Meowls <\/b>is the front head of this set, being the third edition to the Mulcharmy series. Sitting around $55, it\u2019s able to draw 1 card every time your opponent Special Summons from the GY or banishment, which is really powerful against Decks like Maliss. With the same drawback as <\/span>Mulcharmy Purulia<\/b> and <\/span>Fuwalos<\/b>, it\u2019s good to have, especially with how many possible draws that can happen.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

A very prominent soon-to-be card for any Deck on the Fiendsmith engine, <\/span>A Bao A Qu, the Lightless Shadow <\/b>is a powerful Fiend Link-4 that can help turn the tides of any game. With it being able to target 1 LIGHT or DARK monster in your GY to Special Summon it, then banishing <\/span>A Bao A Qu<\/b> for the rest of the turn so there will be constant loops to get advantage as each turn passes. Just needing a Fiend monster for the restriction is super loose, especially with a majority of the game playing some form of the Fiendsmith engine, players have also been incorporating <\/span>Knightmare Phoenix<\/b> and <\/span>Knightmare Cerberus<\/b> back into their Extra Deck as a way to destroy a Spell\/Trap or monster just for their Fiend monster option. While this card is holding around $32, it is definitely worth the pickup for any of your LIGHT or DARK Attribute Decks.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Elzette, Azamina of the White Forest <\/b>is a card I\u2019ve been mentioning since I\u2019ve started doing these snapshots and it has proven that many players were excited for this support. Depending on the version of Azamina you want to run, she is either a 1-of or 2-of and has been going down hitting $28 at the lowest for the moment. By being able to reveal this card from your hand, you can Special Summon 1 White Forest or Azamina monster from your hand. While this card is on the field, it allows you to Fusion Summon into your Azamina Fusion Monsters, using monsters from your hand or field. While on the other side being used as a Synchro Material, this card allows you to add 1 Sinful Spoils card from your Deck to your hand. All three of these effects are amazing for the Azamina White Forest Deck and I cannot wait to see what players improvise this upcoming format.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Next, let\u2019s discuss both <\/span>Ame no Murakumo no Mitsurugi <\/b>and <\/span>Mitsurugi Ritual<\/b> since both of these cards are currently being used and tested in many Ryzeal lists for further interruption. <\/span>Ame no Murakumo no Mitsurugi <\/b>is an interesting Ritual Monster overall because of how the negate effect is worded. Your opponent can discard 1 card to stop the effect of <\/span>Murakumo,<\/b> but if they don\u2019t, the card or effect they activated gets negated. This is extremely useful if it is against something like <\/span>Nibiru, the Primal Being<\/b> because if any of your Mitsurugi monsters are Tributed, they Special Summon themselves back, albeit once per turn and if they are Summoned properly. While <\/span>Ame no Murakumo no Mitsurugi <\/b>tilts around the $5-6 mark, <\/span>Mitsurugi Ritual<\/b> has hit its highest since presales at $30 a copy. The latter card can allow you to Tribute Reptiles from your hand or field to Ritual Summon a Reptile Ritual Monster from your Deck, or Ritual Summon a Reptile Ritual Monster from your hand by Tributing up to 2 Reptile monsters from your hand, Deck, or field. This allows you to Tribute 1 of your Mitsurugi Effect Monsters along with <\/span>Night Sword Serpent<\/b> to Summon <\/span>Murakumo <\/b>or <\/span>Futsu no Mitama no Mitsurugi<\/b>,<\/span> depending on what part of the combo you are at. Along with the Mitsurugi hype a couple weeks ago, I covered <\/span>Planet Pollutant Virus <\/b>from <\/span>Crimson Crisis<\/span><\/i>. This card is no longer around $5 as now it’s up to $15 for a single copy. It is crazy how, in a short time, things change quickly.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Even with the text fix that<\/span> Primite Dragon Ether Beryl <\/b>received via the Yu-Gi-Oh! Database, this card is still a major card for any Deck that wants to play the Primite Engine. Covering <\/span>Primite Roar <\/b>and <\/span>Primite Lordly Lode<\/b> over the past weeks made sure that this card was going to be covered since it is now the heart and soul of the engine. Being able to Set any of your Primite Spells or Traps from your Deck is a great push for this archetype, and being able to Tribute itself to send a Normal Monster from the Deck to the GY does wonders for future Decks like Blue-Eyes, or current Decks like Bystial Control. This card stands tall still being around the $33 mark and has the opportunity to go higher as the weeks go by.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

With the recent release of <\/span>Tenyi Spirit – Suruya<\/b>,<\/span> players have gone back to test Tenyi Swordsoul at events again. This is a powerful addition to the Deck as if you control any Wyrm monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. What does this add to the Deck that already runs many 3-ofs? Well if your <\/span>Swordsoul of Mo Ye<\/b> or <\/span>Swordsoul of Taia<\/b> gets negated by <\/span>Infinite Impermanence<\/b> or <\/span>Effect Veiler<\/b>, it gets a Tuner option to Summon to keep going with your plays. Not having to rely on the Swordsoul Token as much as the Deck had to before is great. Sitting at the $13 range is good for a card like this. Along with <\/span>Tenyi Spirit – Suruya<\/b>, they released two other Tenyi cards, <\/span>Tenyi Spirit – Mula Adhara<\/b> and <\/span>Tenyinfinity<\/b>, which are adding more to what the Deck can do. Even though <\/span>Tenyi Spirit – Mula Adhara <\/b>is only $1, it helps the Deck as when <\/span>Mula Adhara<\/b> is Synchro Summoned while 2 or more Wyrm monsters are in your GY and\/or banishment, you can add 1 Field Spell from your Deck to your hand, which is <\/span>Tenyinfinity<\/b>. Then, you can activate <\/span>Tenyinfinity <\/b>to add 1 <\/span>Vessel for the Dragon Cycle<\/b> or <\/span>Heavenly Dragon Circle<\/b> from your Deck to the hand, but a majority of the time, it will be <\/span>Heavenly Dragon Circle<\/b> for added ways to get around targeting effects for your combos to be secure and safe.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Evil HERO Dead-End Prison <\/b>is a nice addition to the HERO strategy as it can send any HERO monster from the Deck to the GY and if you Fusion Summon a HERO that same turn, you can use this card as 1 of the materials mentioned by name, although all other materials must be correct. Staying around the $13 range for this unique card helps HERO Decks fuse into <\/span>Elemental HERO Shining Neos Wingman<\/b> without needing <\/span>Elemental HERO Neos<\/b>. Being a part of the new Evil HERO support is unique, giving new life to that side of the HERO strategy. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

To follow up with <\/span>Evil HERO Dead-End Prison<\/b>,<\/span> the first non-<\/span>Supreme Darkness<\/span><\/i> card we will look at is <\/span>Evil HERO Adusted Gold<\/b>.<\/span> Adusted Gold<\/b> can discard itself to add a Dark Fusion or a card that mentions Dark Fusion in its text from your Deck to your hand, which is useful for Omni-HERO Decks. This card is also used in the Fiendsmith Chimera Deck as it is a LIGHT Fiend monster to bridge your combo into <\/span>Fiendsmith\u2019s Requiem<\/b>. Pairing this card with <\/span>Evil HERO Sinister Necrom<\/b> is amazing since it is a Level 5 Fiend monster you can search off of <\/span>Gazelle the King of Mythical Claws<\/b>. Then, you can use <\/span>Sinister Necrom<\/b> as Fusion Material for your <\/span>Berfomet the Mythical King of Phantom Beasts, <\/b>then banish it from the GY later to Summon <\/span>Adusted Gold<\/b> from your hand or Deck to just start your Fiendsmith combo and go from there. <\/span>Evil HERO Adusted Gold <\/b>has recently hit the $22-26+ barrier from $8 for all versions just days ago because of the release of <\/span>Supreme Darkness<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

As players are prepping for <\/span>Alliance Insight<\/span><\/i>, many have been looking at the Regenesis theme and decided to pick up copies of <\/span>Dark Spirit\u2019s Mastery<\/b> as it is able to discard 1 card to add 1 <\/span>Destiny Board<\/b> or Level 8 Fiend monster from your hand. The Level 8 Fiend that the Deck has is <\/span>Regenesis Archfiend Bemidbar<\/b> (YGOrg Translation)<\/span><\/i>,<\/span> the main 3-of for the Deck which allows you to add any of your Regenesis cards from your Deck or banishment from your hand. Even though <\/span>Dark Spirit\u2019s Mastery<\/b> has 2 Common prints, many are looking at the Ultra Rare from <\/span>Legendary Duelists: Immortal Destiny <\/span><\/i>as it is sitting at $2-3 a copy. It\u2019ll be a nice card to have for the Deck if you\u2019re eyeing to play it.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

As <\/span>Dragon\u2019s Bind<\/b> has seen a resurgence into the game with the best 2500 ATK Dragons in the game being Bystials, we\u2019ve seen some players using it as a way to stop their opponent from Special Summoning monsters with lower ATK than the targeted monster, but when that monster leaves the field, <\/span>Dragon\u2019s Bind<\/b> destroys itself. Almost less than 30 listings total between both the <\/span>2016 Mega Tin<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Breaker of Shadows<\/span><\/i> copies has skyrocketed from a 20 cent Common to a $2-4 in the span of a couple days.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Finally, let’s talk about the elephant\u2026 well goat in the room. <\/span>The Black Goat Laughs<\/b> from <\/span>Phantom Nightmare <\/span><\/i>has been seeing more play as a target to Set with <\/span>Triple Tactics Thrust<\/b>. By declaring 1 Monster Card name, it shuts off both players from Special Summoning monsters with the original name, except from the GY, which can halt certain combos that your opponent can play. Also, by banishing it from the GY and by declaring 1 Monster Card name afterwards, neither player can activate the effects of monsters on the field with that original name, so it can get around certain monsters on the field, especially against Decks like Ryzeal and Maliss. This card is still holding strong at the $20 mark as it waits for a reprint.<\/span><\/p>\n
